Special Abilities

  • Black Ops (Suppress enemy commander effects that alter the number of activations per phase)
  • Covert Ops Training (If an enemy character within 6 squares has moved this turn, it must attempt a save of 11 before making an attack. On a failure, the attack is cancelled.)
  • Penetration 10 (Enemies' Damage Reduction is reduced by 10 against this character's attacks)
  • Alert (Enemies attacking this character, receive no bonuses from Cunning Attack, Opportunist, Deceptive or Advantageous Attack.)
  • Survival Expert (+4 to this character’s save rolls)

I wasn't sure which faction to put this guy in so I arbitrarily chose NR but I'm looking for suggestions on which faction to actually put him in. I know it seems like a lot of SAs for a lower 20s piece but he can only 60 damage while adjacent which takes away a lot of his advantages. Thoughts or comments welcome as always :D

Alright well he has way to many abilities for a 20 point piece especially a non-unique. As is he is also very under costed compared to almost anything else in his price range. I would change his name to Galactic Alliance Counter-Terrorist Trooper so he gets in on those bonuses. Then you can drop Flak shield because he can get that from the officer. Also I would say for the sake of balance and simplicity drop: breath mask, penetration, gregarious, rolling fire, and chance dodge, and greater mobile attack. And he will still outclass his similarly costed peers.

I do like Alert and the Ops combo on him. I think those three abilities and survival expert alone make him worth taking and his cost
