Fascinating custom - do you make physical miniatures to accompany the stat cards? How did you arrive at the costing for these pieces? If you compare with VSET, Original WotC or SurfRider_56 etc, the cost of your customs seems about 30 points too high even for Universes' Darth Vader Dark Lord etc otherwise, a fun version for use with SW:Legion minis yeah?

Mini Calculator puts this Vader at 66 points. Even then with no Lightsaber Deflect or Defense that's a tough ask.

I put this Vader up against Grand Master Luke and its a very comparable fight between the two. Perhaps your mini calculator doesn't understand how powerful certain abilities are? I'd be curious how it would rate official cards from the actual game it would probably throw them all at less than what they're at.

No, funnily enough the mini calculator is either spot on or under by 5-6 on average. I have a feeling the disconnect here is you severely over rate the stat block in addition to some abilities. 2 honest questions. 1.) what’s the strongest ability on this Darth Vader in your opinion? 2.) Do you think GM Luke is worth 115 points?

This piece is not worth 98 at all. It can only move and attack one time. Sure it has great Melee defense, but no movement... so just stay away from him. Morrigan Corde drops 30, Boba (say a Defense works and a Dark Armor) deals 50. That is half the life of half of your Gambit points in one round, relatively easily. The piece also has very low force points. It simply cannot be used.

Comparing it to Sidious, Mastermind... 2 less cost, 10 more HP. 1 less attack. both have melee, triple, jedi hunter, this piece has djem so mastery, L duelist, and Dark Armor, vs Evade and Parry. force 2 renewal 1 vs force 3 renewal 3. both have MoF 2 and Sith Rage, Over Force and L Defense vs FL 4 and L Assault. and Sidious has a very powerful master tactician CE and allows allies to use force points. (dont forget Rapport and Synergy in case they come into play as well)

Probably need to take into account guys, he/she may not ever deal with V-Set pieces and is basing his/her block completely off of WOTC comparisons. @ Cassius fett I would honestly love to see what the mini calculator put the cost of 115pt Luke. If you have the time, of course

^ Even for wizards he’s way off. I did check GM Luke before, I believe he came out around 80. I’ll check again. EDIT: Mini calculator says 74. However it has no capacity for point costing CE's. My rule of thumb is between 3-5 depending on CE effect. GM Luke's is pretty awesome, so we'll call it 5 and say 79.

Yeah - it depends on how you have your cost algorithm/rubrik. I think the cautious over-costing to be more like Rebel Storm set costing format, is admirable, though, there are a number of different frameworks which allow for lower costs. I would agree in the 54pt to 68pt range for the piece, and playtest against a superset of pieces from VASSAL or TabletopBoardgameSim would allow you to factor metacombinatorics from the ElectronicJournalofCombinatorics costing stuff into it. I think its a fun piece overall though.
