Here's what I did. I attacked a gotal with Force lightning. The opponent(DurgeDude) attacked and hit with a gotal. He said that I couldn't use lightsaber deflect. Is this right?

I'm assuming it's a Gotal Fringer with desintegration. If so you are defeated by the desintegration because it is the ability that kills you not the damage. The lightsaber deflect only avoids the damage. I'm a bit  by the statement that you attacked the Gotal with the lightning. Is this before he attacked? He should have been defeated and not able to attack back.

It sounds like your opponent has gotten phases and turns mixed up.
Nihl could use Deflect as it is a different turn than when he used lightning.
