can a piece use abilities which replace attacks with double attack? Options

can a piece use abilities which replace attacks with double attack? like say a character gets an extra attack from a CE and has heal, can they then heal a piece twice?

No. Captain Tarpals CE let's you do that, though. Also the special ability Overload.
