Well, it’s not the GenCon we wanted to have but it’s the GenCon we are having!! All events will be hosted on Vassal and they will be held between July 30th and August 2nd. All times are in GenCon standard time (Eastern Time Zone). You can pre register by sending a Bloo mail to Urbanjedi or me. You can also contact me at jameswys@hotmail.com to Pre register. We will be having prizes for the winners of the event and the top 4 in the championships. The overall winner of the Jedi Challenge will also receive an overall prize. Thursday Jedi Challenge 10AM 100 Pts (No piece in your squad can cost more than 50 pts) Maps -- Anchorhead, Cloud City, Gangsters Vault, Great Library, Offworld Shipping, Rebel Fortress, Rhen Var Citadel) 230PM 150 pts Maps -- Anchorhead, Cloud City, Gangsters Vault, Great Library, Offworld Shipping, Rebel Fortress, Rhen Var Citadel) 7PM 200 pts (WOTC only. Pieces can cost 2 pts, Soresu Style Mastery Works on all attacks, activation control does not require LOS) Maps -- Cloud City, Ruined Base, plus NON-WOTC Maps Asteroid Base, Jabba's Palace, Rhen Var Citadel, and Bothan Spynet (all from Map pack 4). Jedi Challenge All events will be 3 rounds each. Overall winner will be the player with the most total points. Tiebreakers are 1. most tournaments won, 2. Head to head, 3. Lowest combined placing totals 4. best of 3 vassal die roll off Friday 10AM Tile Wars -- 200 pt (8th Cortex Shaper is Banned) 230 PM Edit: 150pt V-Set only (8th cortex shaper is banned) Maps -- Rhen Var Citadel, Cantina, Jabba's Palace, Ruined Base, Bothan Spynet, This event will be 3 rounds. 7pm Team Tournament (1 player plays a lightside faction (Rebel, Republic, New Republic, OLd Republic, All Fringe), 1 player plays a dark side faction (imperial, Sith, Separatists, Mandos, Vong). Fringe can be in any squad, but all fringe is Light Side. Only 1 copy of each persona (ie unique) is allowed. If one person is running a Boba Fett, the other team member cannot run any other version of Boba Fett Maps -- Cantina, Anchorhead, Cloud City, Gangsters Vault, Offworld Shipping, Rhen Var, Asteroid Base, Each match in the team tourney is light side vs dark side. Saturday 10AM -- 15th anniversary Universe Huge Sealed 125 pts Maps -- Ruined Base, Bothan spynet, Rancor Pit, Felucia, Death Star (RS Starter) 4 Rounds will be played 4PM -- Champs, 200 pts, all the latest rules and erratas. 4 rounds of Swiss, cut to top 4 if 12 or fewer players, top 6 if 20 or fewer players, top 8 if more than 20 Sunday 10 AM -- Set V-set 20 sealed (Rule of Two). 150 pts, 4 rounds, Maps -- Anchorhead, Cloud City, Gangsters Vault, Great Library, Offworld Shipping, Rebel Fortress, Rhen Var Citadel) Sunday 4pm -- Royal Rumble. Each player brings 3 different 100pt (or less) squads of exactly 2 characters. No unique persona can be duplicated in any of the 3 squads (6 characters). All games are played on the Rattack Arena, Pts or scored for killing characters in other squads. 2 rounds will be played.

i might actually be able to attend this! jedi challenge sounds really fun! i've always wanted to go to Gencon and have that experience, but i've never been able to. This might be my only chance to compete on a large stage, so i'm going to heavily consider doing this.

I've taken the week off from work, so it's simpler for me in that way. I totally understand the challenge that work will still pose for many of us.
However, even if you do have to work, I'd like to suggest that we all take a serious look at the events we CAN attend. If nothing else, Saturday afternoon is usually pretty open for most people (for the Championship). Similarly, Friday evening at 7pm (Eastern time) is the Team Tournament. I would hope that both of those events are fairly accessible when it comes to scheduling, and they're also both a ton of fun!

thereisnotry just updated the Vassal module to include Starport Terminal, which is on the Restricted list but hasn't been in Vassal until now. I just got confirmation from James (jew3) that events using the Restricted list will in fact be able to use this map. The events above that are using the Restricted list are: Quote:Thursday

What are the thoughts of the powers that be of changing the 150 Vset only and the 150 standard in the Jedi Challenge to push 3 different build types?

Is there any cost for this? I just noticed the official "Gen Con Online" is charging I think $2 per event. Are we doing it through them or just off on our own?
