I think Grievous has found some new droid friends with the HK-50s if those stats are correct. Opportunist and +4 attack and defense at 30 damage will certainly put hurt into enemy squads.

True.

The debate will be is 3 of these better than 4 IGs...same damage output for cheaper.

Probably a combination of the two. Could see Lobot, CLO's reinforcements turn into an HK 50 and a Mouse!

I'm not sure the extra Dam and 10 HP are worth the upgrade.

Nor am I, I was just saying that 3 of them is 81 while 4 of the IGs are 68. Not really much else to it you are trying to cram activations in.

The HK 50 niche might be in replacing an IG if you have 10 points hanging around. That, and it makes reserves cooler with Lobot if you don't have 13 points of whatever being thrown in there, 27 points of an attacker and a Mouse to block LOS might be a good investment.

Or, just bring in an IG and Czerka, lord knows the IGs attacks are high enought if they could get a Jolt off early it could be game winning.

Just thinking out loud...

Oh, look. A 12 pt Stealth shooter, who will have a 23 Def and +15 Atk with Obi. Yes, this set will solve all the problems.

Kol at 38pts makes me laugh to think of all the 20+pt Jedi characters from CS and ROTS.

To be fair, we haven't seen all the pieces yet. But yes, I think the Ranger will be a pain in the arse with GOWK.

What are the chances that 2 R4s can both target the same enemy and give it -8. Its obviously stacking but will they let it like Combined Fire?

No, because it is stacking of SAs and the SA does not say it stacks with itself.
Combined Fire works because it is a core rule, not an SA. (and that it says it stacks in the rules)
:)

The debate on using HK-50s or IG-86s in a GGDAC squad could be a long one. I personally would use both if I could. HK-50 beats IG-86 in every way (more attack, same defense, more hp, more damage), but it costs more. Just thinking of the pain my opponent feels when I twin for 40's against his activated pieces is exciting.

2 HK50s = 52pts (w/ Gha); 140HPs; 22def (w/ GGDAC); +22att (w/ GGDAC; BDO; Opp); 40dam (w/ Opp)...so max damage is 160 w/ Twin on each. 2 activations

3 IG86s = 48pts (w/ Gha); 180HPs; 22def (w/ GGDAC); +21att (w/ GGDAC; BDO; Opp); 30dam (w/ Opp)...so max damage is 180 w/ Twin on each. 3 activations

Guess which ones I'll be using...

I could see reasons to use both in the same squad. I don't think it's strictly one or the other. That base 30 damage could be key if going up against pieces with DR, Dark Armor, Crab Armor, Force Attuned Armor etc. On the surface, it might seem easy to just go the IG-86 route. I think it may be more complicated than that.

The guy who has Dash and Rex murder these guys wholesale.

Seriously, the Disciple is good, but he won't make a huge dent in GOWK squads, and then you have Vong getting a boost...

I don't know, but I'd like to fill up on those Antarian Rangers. Love the affinity for all Republic squads. Maybe I could even play an OR squad for once.

Ok...I can see some reasoning in that. However, taking that into account, we'll throw the example of either droid group shooting at a character with crab armor 6 (or anything reducing by a save)...all attacks hit:
HKs go first and do 160dam over 4 hits and is reduced to 120dam...armor having to make 4 saves.
IGs go second and do 180dam over 6 hits and is reduced to 120dam...armor having to make 6 saves.
Still liking my chances with the IGs...and the extra 40HPs.

Now what might matter is getting outactivated and having to rely on the base damage. I might swing towards using the HKs in that case.

I guess it might depend on whether you're willing to sacrifice activations for a higher base damage.
