Alright, so it's time to do the nominations for this year's Hall of Fame class! This will be open for about 3 and a half weeks, ending February 1st.

The way it works is you can nominate exactly 5 people for induction into the Hall of Fame. The current members of the HoF will then vote on the nominees. Post all nominations in this thread.

The top 3 nominees (people who got the most nominations) will get 1 free "community vote" during the voting process.

Threads are up at both Gamers and Bloomilk; please only post your nomination in one of the two places, not both. Remember that you should nominate exactly 5 people, no more, no less.

As a reminder, here is the list of people who are currently in the Hall of Fame. Don't nominate these guys!

spryguy - competition, PT, etc

Darth Rattlehead - apps

AceAce - competition, PT, customs, etc

atmsalad - former GenCon finalist

donnyrides - for restarting the weekly customs contest. There's more to keeping the game active than just GenCon and regionals. There's a tremendous amount of discussion on the boards in some areas without much input from designers or Hall of Famers. The weekly customs contest is part of that. It's a group effort, but he was the one who got the ball rolling again.

Every year I just copy and past the post from the previous year, adding the new class and changing the end date if I need to. So it's been misspelled for a long time now. Tongue

Fixed now though.

+1 to all of these

Also add DarthMaim, for stepping up and helping to keep the SWM campaign going. The vassal/in person ongoing campaigns are a great different way to play, they also help really test out a particular faction (as it prevents every OR team from taking Bastilla and you have to try out other new and interesting combos), keep interest going and are even somewhat story driven for that entertaining Tactical RPG feel as well. It's quite the commitment to organize and run these and both Maim and Spry have been huge parts of it's success.

These two started up the Vassal campaigns

donnyrides - started up the Custom Creation Contest

EmperorDragon - always a huge resource with rules questions

surf_rider56 - seems like he hasn't been very active lately, but he's been making custom cards for a long time and posting them here for us to enjoy

Alex (College kid from GenCon, who has played countless events since he was a boy more than 10 years ago and who still plays faithfully.) He got sportsmanship last year or year prior.

Joe's my best friend, but has entered the SWM Championship, and made the top 8 the same number of times as me.
We've played in it only a few times, and we both made the top 8 once. Me in "12 and him in "14 or "15

spryguy - competition, PT, etc
Trevor Mando - PT
Darth Rattlehead - apps
General_Grievous - running a lively playgroup, involvement in campaigns etc
And out of left field since not many people see his contribution, Ian (NZ player, no Bloomilk account) - PT. Ian has done huge amounts of testing for the last 3-4 sets, to the point where he's played the vast majority of the pieces from those sets.

To be fair - he said contender. When you don't play in the champs, you can't be a contender.

Don't want to start anything but,

how can you be a contender in something you don't participate?
could the Cubs be a contender for the SuperBowl?, if they don't play pro football.

contender Definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary
dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/contender
contender definition, meaning, what is contender: someone who competes with other people to try to win something: . Learn more.

so, one must compete to contend.
