I think it's a good mechanic. The gonk is pretty much unplayed at this time. This will get them some play, but also has the draw back of the gonk still being a self destructive liability. Seems balanced enough. What's your distaste/concern for it?

1-no battering ram!? that was the wagons primary weapon
2-stable footing!? it has stone wheels, and is moved by pushing it, or gravity.

why is it necessary? my problem is the constant influx of trying to maximize damage every way possible. Why does the gonk need to be playable? it is fine to have pieces that don't have a chance of being played especially ones that increase the number of attacks per round.

do I think it is game breaking or anything no, just don't like it is all.

"Unique Droid allies gain Distraction while within 6 squares of this character."

Am I missing something? I get that she's more of a flavor-focused piece, so maybe I'm being a little harsh, but...

This doesn't seem super-useful to me. Maybe if you had an IG clone squad, and the Gonks would also be useful, but I don't think I'd spend 30 points to give 3-4 IGs Distraction. BB8, Todo 360, and See-Threepio already have Distraction. All Unique droids are either heavily tech-focused - and thus fragile and not an incredibly good choice for parking next to your opponent - or expensive bounty hunters that would shoehorn L3 out in favor of more firepower. Not to mention HK-47 has Disruptive, which has essentially the same effect.

Maybe I'm underestimating the power of Distraction, but the CE is really restrictive: Unique, within 6 with no chance of Relay Orders. This could have been Disruptive, and while that is a little too much, you'd have to spam flimsy tech pieces to abuse it, and if your squad can't take down BB8 without Commander Effects then you need to reconsider your build. With at least Interference, I could see her being a useful pick if you were running an IG clone squad. As it is, she's a 30-point R7 that gives Lando an extra attack, and might let you sacrifice R2-D2 if you need one turn of Distraction.

Ironically, she helps Grievous. That's kinda funny. Really, Grievous should have some sort of Disruptive, but I understand why he doesn't.

Looks like a good set, though. L3 is still flavorful, even if I can't find much use for her right now. The Chiss subfaction is expanding nicely. Mr. Bones is hilarious. The Missile Trooper looks fun.

Disruptive doombot seems like an obvious combo, With mas for the extension.

That'd be a 39-point Disruptive doombot. And no Mas for extension, the CE is worded like General Obi-Wan Kenobi - the effect is boardwide, but only applies to Droid allies that are within 6 squares of L3.

Good thought, though. Doombot could have been even more OP with that.

I'm not doubting you, im just not understand why that is the ruling.

Booming Voice: Allies' commander effects normally limited to 6 squares have unlimited range

L3 CE: Unique Droid allies gain Distraction while within 6 squares of this character.

Can you explain why that doesn't result in the CE being: Unique Droid allies gain Distraction while within unlimited range of this character?

Edit: Am i correct in thinking L3 would need to be worded as "L3 CE: Unique Droid Allies within 6 squares gain Distraction" to benefit from Mas. That's a strange distinction and not once I entirely see the difference of.

The difference between the wordings is that one (Unique Droid Allies within 6 squares gain Distraction) is specifying a radius of effect while the other (Unique Droid allies gain Distraction while within 6 squares of this character) specifies a character and a distance as a trigger, but has no actual radius of effect.

Updated wording on L3-37's commander effect:

"Unique Droid allies gain Distraction as long as this character is within 6 squares of the ally."

This counts distance from the ally, not from L3-37. Distances counted from an ally instead of the commander cannot be extended by Booming Voice or Relay Orders. That renders much of the above discussion moot, but the end result is the same. L3-37's CE cannot be extended by Mas Amedda or Relay Orders.

I'll add the next one soon as well. I've been away for a few weeks so I wasn't able to add any spoilers.

Does this activate the Savage character? If not, does this mean I can chain them together with a single Savage ally?

Yes, if you can successfully set up the chain.
