Announcing the October Squad Swap tournament (on Vassal again):

We'll do two rounds on the 17th. If we have a 3rd round, the last round can be either played that night(if the players are up for it) or played in the next few days.
Quote:
Each player builds a squad as usual, but in round 1 each player uses their opponent's squad. So in round 1 you will play against the squad you built.
In each successive round, you take the squad you just used to the next table, and the two players swap squads before playing the game. So whenever you win, in the next round you have to beat the squad you had just won with.
This results in a winning player (the player who won all their games). And it results in a winning squadbuilder (whoever built the squad that won all of its games). These will necessarily be different players since the winning squadbuilder will have lost to their own squad in round one. You'll get to know multiple squads during the tournament: you build one squad and then play several different squads during the tournament.
We need 4 players to run the tournament and can handle up to 8. (Numbers are limited so that the tournament can run in just 3 hours in one evening, plus the finals.) If we have a 3-round tournament, we'll all play with our own squads in the first round. We'll still have a different player-winner and squadbuilder-winner, but we'll all get to both play with and against our own squads.
