I know excitement for it is much diminished due to our SWM events already having taken place at VassalCon.

That doesn't mean we can't still play SWM at Gen Con!

Unfortunately, it looks like our SWM event was not solidified in time to make the official catalogue. We are having an unofficial event anyway.

Just a straight 200pt competitive tournament, current maplist, everything legal including vset 22 available to use.

Since we have no idea what table space in the convention center will be like, it will be a last minute call on location. If we can find table space in the convention center, we'll do it there. If not, we can always do a hotel lobby. I am staying in a hotel directly across the street from the convention center (connected by skywalk), we can play in there if nowhere else.

The event will be "unofficial" as far as Gen Con is concerned, but will use all current official rules. Please familiarize yourself with those.

Players will be responsible for knowing all errata, floor rules, etc.

This will be an official Star Wars™ Miniatures SWMGPA (Star Wars Miniatures Gamers Players Association) sacnctioned event. The SWM GPA Floor Rules will be in effect.

It will be the current Restricted Maplist MINUS Outlaw City and Starport Terminal
(both maps will not make the next restricted list as they were proven to be abusable)

Around what time would this be starting? I do have a work day Friday, but if possible I’d try to make it!

Then perhaps you and juiceman can make a road trip when I have another inperson regional!

I usually end work around 5pm, so probably a little after 6 by the time I’m able to drive/park. If that’s too late, or other need to start earlier, I can see if I can get off earlier in the day.

so it now looks like a 7:30 pm start time. I'd say that is likely to be set at this point, but keep an eye on this thread.

Also - PM me if you plan on playing and I'll give you my phone number. Table space could be the one tricky part. I really have no idea this year if we can slip into a free spot at the convention center. Worse case scenario, we can do it in the lobby of the hotel across the street (Marriot) where I am staying.

Location will be posted here once it is established, but it may very well be a last minute decision. I guess that's why they pay the big bucks to make events official, lol
