The Battle of the Beatsticks150 point constructed tournament Wednesday 2/4/09Starts around 5ish and goes till 9ish. See you all there! Wednesday, February 4th Battle of the Beatsticks! 150 Point and with a special twist, the squad MUST include at least 70 points of unique characters with melee attack and base 20 damage or higher. From 5pm - 9pm Will Darth bane conquer?  Can anakin djem so to victory with his master obi-wan?  Is Darth Vader going to make you cry?  Malak?  Draay? Luke? This event is not sanctioned and we will be useing the new dci approved maps with the new init rule even tho dci has it effective on the 13th

This is our first wednesday event. The standard start time will be somewhere between 5-6 whatever works for the most people. If i have more than 8 people ready at 5pm, then we will likely be starting right away. Otherwise its going to be kinda flexible. I know how traffic can be in redmond/bellevue at 5pm

Squads:
Darth Krayt w/ aurra sing, t3 etc
Lord Vader w/ Thrawn, caamasi's etc
New Obi General with Anakin, CoV, padme sen, r2 ad etc
Darth Bane w/ holosid, DJM, Lando ds + uggies
Darth Tyranus, LotDS + Bindo w/ aurra jh, t3, human bg + uggies
Darth Malak, dlots + Caedus w/ t3 etc
GG, Dac + Mission Vao w/ 3x IG's and bdo etc
First round
LV+ thrawn had the bye
GG, Dac+Mission vs Malak+Caedus
Very close game. They actually play it out with t3 m4 killing GG, dac only to have me point out that GG, dac one on gambit once it was down to t3.
Krayt vs Bane
Bane got down to 40 and krayt couldn't win any key inits. So Bane destroyed krayt. I think Bane didn't like krayt changing the rule of two : )
Darth Tyranus + Vao vs Obi and Ani
Lightning and Aurra proved to to much for the republic jedi
Second Round
Krayt gets the Bye
GG, Dac + vao vs Bane
GG has some trouble with init roles and Lando making evades. Key init loss and bane destroys GG. GG's player spaces doesn't kill Bane with mission...first activation of the round...bane based with mission and he decided to shoot with an IG...40 hp left on bane. Bane runs away after killing mission and djm cleans up with his 5+ fps left.
Darth Tyranus vs Lord Vader
Very close game. LV's player makes a crucial mistake and doesn't move vader into the bubble after killing aurra, which allows Tyranus to finish him with lightning. Thrawn almost won on gambit...but t3 and tyranus clean things up.
Malak + Caedus vs Anakin + Obi
Malak barely lives with 10 hp and ends up with a strong victory over the republic.
3rd Round
My favorite moment is when the republic player finds out he is playing another squad with T3-m4 and complains aboutt he piece...i just loved someone with r2-ad complaining about t3-m4 : )

Darth Malak and Caedus vs Lord vader
Malak pulls out a win over Vader and his blue companion.
Krayt vs Ani + Obi
Obi and anakin fall quickly to doubles from aurra and lightning.
Darth Tyranus + Bindo vs Bane
The final match to determine the King of the beatsticks. A very close game. Bane gets the first key init. Useing his sith sorcery aurra gets activated and jolee bindo dies to an assault. He couldn't avoid defeat from Bane either : ) Most of each squad took a huge beating, but Bane failed to kill tyranus due to lightsaber block and tyranus cuts him down. DJM finishes Tyranus and aurra slays the djm. All in all a very close game.
Darth Tyranus, Legacy of the Darkside is crowned King and is probably quite thankful for what the anzati did to aurra making he the perfect weapon for him.
First walked away with a new Jango Fett, BH!
Second recieved a pretty new Luke's Landspeeder! Great prizes!
