All agreed that Zombies + Ethereal spikes from the Nightsister Spirits was a giant Negative Play Experience. As written, th Zombies make more zombies, even if the defeat of the enemy is with an Ethereal Spike.

RECCOMMENDED ERRATA:

1. Change the Nightsister Zombie ability to only create more zombies from defeating an ADJACENT (future proving just in case) enemy WITH AN ATTACK (maybe even an attack on their own turn? IE - no Talzin cannon shot zombie making.)

2. Also add in to the Nightsister Zombie ability that they may not gain abilities from allies who are not LIVING Nightsisters. (Spirits have been errata'd to be non-living a few years back)

3. Confirm in the glossary that the newly made zombies count for kill points for your opponent. (This may already be the case, but it should be explicit in the glossary)

That will solve the worst of it. 4 pt zombies that are easily cloaked and make more zombies as they kill are bad enough. They don't need access to Ethereal Spikes, they shouldn't make zombies from anything other than adjacent attacks, and new zombies should count for kill points.

There was brief chat about giving an errata to both the zombies and the spirits, but I don't think the spirits are the issue outside of zombies. Regardless, the Zombies need to be changed, so we might as well make 2 changes to the one ability on the Zombie, rather than one on the Zombie and one on the spirit.

Then it at least future proofs if they ever make more NS Zombies, and the ability gets reused. (I hope that doesn't happen, but it clearly cannot be controlled what future sets do)

They're only range 3- just bring a Strafer or some other area damage. At least we're rolling less saves again with this squad.

Fan of less saves for sure. And it’s not unbeatable by any stretch. It’s just a giant NPE. Zombies are too cheap for the spikes. Spirits were meant for the WotC Nightsisters.
