With the champs basically a week away, I thought it might be fun to make some guesses about what squads will show up. Of the 14 available seats, we have sold 11. I'm going to give myself a couple extra spots in case we get some late adds.
Here are my guesses for faction composition and squads in those factions. Please discuss or post yours below.
Old Republic. 3 (RPK, Nomi/Thon, Kana Terrid)
Sith. 2 (Tulak, Triumverate)
Republic 1 (something with a lot of movement, maybe Cin/Serra or similar)
Separatists 3 (San Hill, new Maul, something old school)
Rebels 1 (Heroes of Endor)
Imperials 1 (Thrawn's Forces)
New Republic 1 (Galactic Alliance and/or pilots)
Vong 0
Mandalorians (if there, will be a nontraditional squad, possibly independent outfit)
Fringe (see above. I expect a Talon squad, but make no faction prediction)

Fringe 2 With those in mind, here's my predictions: OR 3 (RevanPK, Army of Light, Wookiees) Sith 2 (Tulak Hord, new Malak) Republic 1 (Yoda MOTO, now with Jedi Armorer) Separatists 2 (new Maul, both in a Nightsister build and with San Hill & Grievous) Rebels 1 (Heroes of Endor) Imperials 1 (classic Thrawn) NR 1 (Laura's Galactic Alliance pilots) Vong 0 (Most are hoping, I'm sure) Mandos 1 (Spidermando with Talon Karrde) Fringe 1 (Pirates, thanks adamb0nd for reminding me) I look forward to being catastrophically wrong. Especially with the squad predictions, because at least a third of the squads will be ones that weren't on my radar as "good enough" (i.e. not things I would play or think of).

My Gen Con hopes were dashed with the addition of 2 new clients. I'm just too busy to make the trip. That being said,

Here's what actually showed up. Only 11 players. I don't know all the specific squads yet. 2 OR 2 Sith 2 Republic 3 Separatists 1 Rebels 0 Imperials 0 NR 0 Vong 1 Mandos 0 Fringe Of the guesses in this thread I give it to Laura. Guessed the correct number for Sith, Seps, Rebels, Vong and Mandos, with the rest all within 1 of target.

There was a 150pt non-Vset tournament at GenCon this year- 8 players in teams of two. The organizing team usually runs one "WotC-only" event every year. I'm sure they would love to have you there next year. (I think the reason there aren't more events like that is because most members of the tournament-playing community use the Vsets.)
