Here is on of my first cards I made. I actually have a custom for him, but he's just an old republic commander I repainted into Thrawn. I had the younger, Thrawn in mind, when he was scourge of the unknown regions, leading a brush war against any one he deemed an invader. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z39/jedicartographer/CaptainThrawnPrintReady.jpg[/IMG]]Captain Thrawn I just didn't think I'd make a dream set without an ugnaught.

Interesting new design, especially from someone who actually has some insight into how the old WOTC would think. Does this design allow for more text, is that my imagination or am I overthinking your design

Sorta. I just wanted the text on the cards to be able to be a little bigger.I figured since these are personal use cards, I don't need a picture of the mini on the back.
I just want the cards to be pretty and colorful, kind of like a collectible card.

Tell me is you think he's costed properly... "Calling in a favor" is kind of cool in my opinion,if the guy can hang long enough to make it work. http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/11436/twilek-privateerThanks

The cost is probably right, +/- 2 and the "Favor" is interesting (I've done something similar) but what I'm curious is that, under the right circumstances, he can have a Twin Attack at +20 Attack at +40 Damage .... seems a bit high. The ol WOTC didn't have any non unique that could do that unless it was Savage or a Force User, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah that's a little excessive i guess. I think opportunist doesn't really need to be there. So I removed it, and lowered the price to 28. What do you think? It seems a little too cheap to me. But the odds aren't totally great that he would be able to call in a favor before he was defeated.

I agree with Surf re: the damage, although I think Bravado is the most appropriate thing to cut (more in a moment).
In terms of cost, I would consider looking at something over 30, to avoid Reinforcements/Reserves. This guy being able to Call in a Favor is probably something you'd want to limit. Otherwise, Lobot + Recon + Anticipation = insanity in a long game.
Another thing to factor in is the value of Call in a Favor itself. You note that it can be cool "if he can last long enough." Since there doesn't seem to be any restriction about using CiaF IMMEDIATELY, of course he can last long enough! Arguably, CiaF is in some ways SUPERIOR to Reinforcements, because you can save it until later in the game to tailor your forces as needed. Sure, there are only a limited number of characters to chose from, but it's a pretty good range.
Personally, I would price the ability at about 15, meaning that if the Privateer costs, say 32, he should basically be a 17-point piece once you take that away.
With respect to Bravado, it's important to remember his cost and who the ability would work against. Priced at 30-32, virtually every piece that costs more than him falls into one of three categories (in some cases, more than one of these categories simultaneously):
1) Unique 2) Droid 3) Large base or larger
(There are currently 3 exceptions: Bomarr Monk, Jensaarai Defender, and Wookiee Jedi.)
So should a privateer be good at targetting uniques, droids, and large opponents? Meh. I don't see it. In a void, it seems like an appropriate ability, but in practice, I don't think it plays the way you want it to.
I would also say that the Bravado part of the commander effect might be a bit much. Even limited to non-Unique Fringe, a piece like the Echani Handmaiden becomes insane. 120 damage at +15 without any other CEs factored in? Yikes!

Gwek, that's really good input thank you!
I made a few tweaks, and I think I've got him where I want him.

They all look great! I love what you did with Revan, how did you make him? (I may totally have to steal that, as my cobbled together Reborn/Jensari isn't the best. AND I've been looking for a good hood-type piece and nice use of the Heroclix Purifer for Vrook! EDIT: more stuff was added... Really liking a lot of this, a few more quick questions. What did you use for the "Dark Sider's" Legs? and how did you make Vindican? Hope you don't mind all the questions, but I'm trying my hand at a little customizing and I really like all of what you have here.

The Darksiders legs are actually from a tusken raider Revan is actually 3 pieces. "The Hood" from heroclix, The arms from a the clone wars kit fisto, and a snow troopers legs I believe.

A Renaissance Man after my own heart, Card Maker, Stats, Minis not to mention your Cartographic skills. Nice work. Noticed you used many a Heroclix piece and if I'm not mistaken, a few Mage Knight pieces (which are a great source for little used but great minis/ideas.)
By the way, Trooper ... they look more Nimbus Commando than Consortium, but that's just me

Whoa! So many customs! Very nice reposes, customs and paintwork. The detail is there, and some of the paint effects look hard to achieve. Could you share some recipes (for most of them) and elaborate on how you paint your minis? Also, since you've mastered custom minis, maybe you'd like to give vehicles a go/maybe youve made some custom vehicles? It'd be great to see what sort of vehicles you come up with. My favorites would have to be the jedi (especially the jedi general on swoop!) and the clones/trooper minis. I'd like to see a Jango custom, since you did a Jaster mini All the best and can't wait to see some more.
