Hey everyone I'm a veteran SWM player who has just recently decided to break out my collection and get back into the game. I have been looking over the new pieces and everything that is "new" in the game on here but the fact that I'm doing it on a samsung moment is kind of slowing me down. So I was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind filling me in on the neccesary details, thanks in advance.

Shooters are a dying breed, general reikan killed them
Witch gave up, we now have the vsets
If you don't use the vsets most top tier squads are rebels

Here are some of the top-tier options for each faction:
Rebels - got a big boost with Imperial Entanglements - General Rieekan (mobile and evade for everyone), Luke Rebel Commando (can levitate pieces around), and General Crix Madine are all still very useful. Bastilla Shan, from Destiny of the Force (the first v-set) has helped bring them down a little in the meta, as she suppresses the CEs that Rebels rely on.
Mandalorians - got some help from Jaster Mareel from the v-set. He allows you to bring in tech pieces to combat bad matchups like Dodonna and the Lancer. Stuff like Mandalorian Scouts are still good I think - I really don't see Mandalorians played much so I'm a bit unsure about them
Imperial - most builds centre around IE Thrawn, often with a high damage output attacker like Lord Vader or Cad Bane. Pallaeon from Destiny of the Force is a very useful tech piece, with his force bubble.
New Republic - got a huge boost from Ganner Rhysode, who can levitate pieces like Mara Jade Jedi and Anakin Solo around. Throw in disruptive, and you have a great squad.
Republic - General Skywalker from Galaxy at War, pimping out Yobuck and IE Dash, with Panaka's swap.
Old Republic - Bastilla Shan from DotF is very, very helpful - effectively supplying board wide disruptive with her force ability. To date, she's mostly been seen with tough pieces like Jedi Battlemasters, but it looks like they'll have a few more options after Renegades and Rogues comes out.
Sith - Darth Revan, Sith Lord, provides initiative control and a nasty Cunning Attack and movement breaker. Darth Bandon's +10 damage CE is very helpful. Again, like Old Republic, they're getting lots more support options in Renegades and Rogues.
Vong - arguably the worst faction at the moment, although the CE stealing Yammosk from DotF is very helpful. You're likely to see Nom-bombs or Jedi Hunters as the main pieces.
Seperatists - have very diverse top tier builds, with various permutations of Lancers, IG-86s, Whorm Loathsom, General Grievous, Droid Army Commander all very viable.
