Hey all,
Despite the fact that a lot of players (or so it seemed from reading forum posts and comments) seemed very excited about the Ackbar we got in GH, he (and the Rebels as a whole) has been absent at Regionals for the most part. I was one of the ones who was very happy about the Rebels we got in V4 and Ackbar seemed like the icing on the cake for those Rebel shooters, but he just hasn't been there. Anyway, tell me what you think of this Rebel Ackbar build...

If I run up against Thrawn/Cad Bane/lots of acts I'll bring in Momaw to take down the fodder. If I face Superstealth (like Storm Commandos w/ Nyna) I'll put in a Treadwell and 3 Mice.
Similar to Darph Nader's Running Rebs, to give credit where it's due. Luke acts as melee interference. The low Atk of the ERC is boosted by CA20 amd combined fire. They get damage boosts from CA20 and combined fire.I swap Han RG for Han Solo, Rebel Hero, since Han RH's CE works so well combined with Madine's, and give HanRH Evade. I've also got a pretty good amount of door control which can definitely help against squads like Cad Bane/Thrawn that usually lack anything more than Lobot and an Uggie or two..

Here's an Ackbar squad I put together back in March. I was going to tweak it a couple weeks ago and add in some of the new Snipers to have more CF options but didn't like it as much so I changed it back. Still needs something I think. I really should break this out sometime and give it a go.

Ackbar hands out his accurate shot to the 4 or 5 SpecForce Infiltator (depending on taste, Mon Mothma can alter the Infiltrator to tech Ratio)
Combining Fire helps the lowerish attack of the SpecForce stick with solid Damage output and being able to pinpoint targets with Ackbar. Mon Mothma is there to help boost stats over time/to customize at the start.
And don't forget Dodonna can always throw his book to combine fire!

Nice work guys, both look very solid!
I hadn't thought about using Ackbar in NR with Mirith but that's a great idea. She's a powerhouse all to herself and combined with Ackbar she's great. I've been trying to think of some small improvement but honestly I can't come up with one.
Andy, have you thought about using a SpecForce Marine or two? They're very good, although with CF on them it could be hard to combine fire. I'm honestly not sure that Mon is worth it in that squad. All you really get is the Reinforcements and a decent CE for 14 points,

Has anyone messed around with Ackbar+Spotter. An NR squad with Mirith seems like a good place to start since she can give GA Scouts Super Stealth. corranhorn wrote:Andy, have you thought about using a SpecForce Marine or two? I like the Marine, but I have a feeling I'd be keeping them further back, out of sight, to fully take advantage of their Charging Fire. Mothma helps flexibility which is always good. I haven't had a chance to play this squad so she may not be worth it in the end. I also just like her CE, the stat boos is always welcome, and seems worth it to me for 14 points.

I just realized that I tweaked my Snackbar Supreme squad following a suggestion and forgot to update it in here.

I dropped one of the GASG's and Lobot and added in Kenth Hamner and one of the new GA Snipers (plus a mouse).
I still haven't run this squad and while I like it my guess is that it may not have a big enough punch to get enough 3 point wins. Kind of the same rationale for why the Storm Commando / Weir squads are good but not great.
I may have to pack this one for Akron and see how it plays in a friendly game if we can get one in.
