Prepare yourself for the 4th Annual LBB Tournament at Kryptonite Kollectibles in Janesville, WI. It should be a fun day. Here are the specifics, so mark it on your calendar and we’ll see you there!

When: Saturday, November 15
Time: register at 9:30am, play runs 10:00 am – 4 pm
Format: 200 point squads, normal build rules
Bring a map (just like you did for Regionals); we’ll follow the Open map list so you’ve got a lot to choose from
We’ll also follow the SWMGPA/DCI scoring system, time limits, etc like a Regional
Four * one hour rounds
Entry Fee: none; it’s free this year!
Prizes: none; so no worries about trying out that fun team (well, okay … we may have a few)

All the fun of a Regional, but the lower stress and higher frivolity of a Friday night.

Did we say fun? Remember, this isn’t meant to be ultra-competitive, so you can leave your GenCon team at home. :>)

It is Logan's Birthday Bash.

A few years back, his parents asked him what he wanted for his birthday. He asked for a SWM tournament. So we ran an Regional format but with a more open map list. We did the entry fee and prizes. And his parents brought in pizza for everyone. Without the official "Regional" in the title, players felt a little more relaxed. (Not that they're not playing to win, they still are. But they might try a squad that's not ready for Tier 1.) But we're not so relaxed that we wear pointy hats, use blow-out party favors, and sing. Logan can sing, but the rest of us ... umm, no.

And we've used that as an excuse, err, I mean reason, to gather for something similar each year since.

Is it the same guy that won the Regional last year? Is that Logan?

12 players, so it was a good time. No cake or singing, but that was probably for the best.

Final standings were:

Jason 4-0 12 points
Johnny 3-1 9 points
Mark 3-1 8 points
Laura 3-1 8 points
Logan 2-2 6 points
Tim 2-2 6 points
Shawn 2-2 5 points
Owen 2-2 5 points
Lillian 1-3 3 points
RJ 1-3 3 points
Logan 1-3 2 points
Lydia 0-4 0 points

Thanks to all for coming to play. It was a blast!

Congrats to Jason (winner), Logan1 (birthday boy), Logan2 (youngest), and Mark (furriest).

Here's the preview figure from the new v-set:

Gold Squadron Ace
Rebel
Cost 19

Hp 40
Def 16
Att +9
Dam 20

Special Abilities
Pilot

Blast Cannon [+10 damage against targets within 6 squares]

Grenades 10 [replaces attacks: range 6; 10 damage to target and each character adjacent to that target; save 11]

Pinpoint Attacks [Replaces turn: can move up to double speed, then choose up to three lower-cost targets within 6 squares, ignoring cover. Attack each target once.]

Squad Member [Counts as having the same name as any ally for purposes of special abilities whose names contain Squad. Gains abilities whose names contain Squad from allies within 6 squares.]

He hasn't gone through QC yet so the wording might change slightly.

What did people play? What won? I was ready to go with my gloom walkers squad but then I got strep throat and my car heater died.. So bummed I couldn't go.

I won with

Caedus Sith Lord
2x Dread Master
Dr E
Vergere
Marka Force Ghost
Freedon Nadd Force Ghost
Holosid
ugnaught

Full report later but the point was to give Caedus almost unlimited FP. Marka Haunts him and then Freedon Haunts MArkas and gives Caedues the dark master. So Caedus can use his own FP, Markas (who now has renewel), and Freedon's (who also has renewal). Plus once Vergere dies, he gets 4 more.

Thanks to Lillian and Jason for the customs they gave away. You guys are awesome. All players got something and walked away with a smile.

Thanks to Laura for the treats.
