Hi all, Please congratulate Laura Kiernan, Bryan Hole and Etienne "Caesar" Sallade for their recent appointment to the balance committee. They were chosen via democratic vote by members of the Vset team. I'm sure you'll all feel, as I do, that each are a great boon to the committee and wiil serve the community with the passion, common sense and dignity we all know them for. Cheers ears

Congratulations people!
What will your first 100 days look like?
Is there an agenda in place? Are there discussions that the new three are trying to bring up?
What do you have in store now that you are a member of the balance team?
I want stump speeches and promises!
Blast bugs are they on the docket?
How about one more counter for out activation?
Or for booming voice?

Or for booming voice? Counters are the jurisdiction of design. Design is forward thinking and utilizes new ideas to move the game forward, one aspect of which is combat game imbalance. The balance committee only alters rules and designs to maintain balance, designer intent and play enjoyment. Introduction of abilities will be a very rare event, if used ever, by the balance committee. Its main role is to cut the top end of abuse by banning figs, reducing cost or limiting abilities synergies. The agenda is determined by the community and all the aspects you bring up are currently being discussed.

We need a rules change.
Lightsaber ability needs to be considered melee attack.

after 13 years? no. it impacts the game very little, it imbalances nothing. The change would be a sideways move and totally not the point of the balance team. I would expect changes after gen con, hopefully before the NZ tourney season
