2020/20 Star Wars Miniatures Strategy Guide

A strategy guide leading up to GenCon 2020 and introducing Vset 20: Always Two There Are / Rise of Skywalker.

Faction: Fringe tech and Fringe attackers

Pure Fringe squads became viable when Talon Karrde, Information Broker was introduced. Pure Fringe squads that don't include him are built around subfactions, which are discussed in another thread. Here are some of the key tech and key attackers in Fringe. They of course apply to Talon Karrde squads, but as Fringe these are pieces that might be useful in any faction.

Pieces to know (tech):
Talon Karrde, Information Broker (+4/+10, Disruptive, Ysalamiri, movement breaker)
The Father (99pts of awesome tech that must pair with exactly 2 Force users of any faction)
IG-88A (lets a squad have multiple IG-88s and boosts them with Twin and Shields)
HK-47, Assassin Droid (Disruptive and +4 Def to droids)
Guildmaster Cradossk (Let bounty hunters attack and still use a Replaces-Attacks ability)
Barada on Desert Skiff (Big vehicle that gives ultimate protection to the riders)
Ugnaught Demolitionist (3pt Satchel Charge)
Mouse Droid (3pt Relay Orders)
Killik Drone (5pt Relay Orders+Satchel Charge)
R7 (8pt Override)
Lobot (20pts of Reinforcements)
Marn Hierogryph (Bribery and Con Artist)
Droopy McCool (Forward Positioning, Distraction, 10pt gambit getter)
Distraction options (5+ options at various cost levels)
Bodyguard options (5+ options at various cost levels)
Muun Tactics Broker (auto-win init)
Prowler 1000 Seeker Droid (Cloaked counter)
Loth-cat (minor movement breaker for Force users)
Kneesaa, Ewok Princess (2pts)
Maul, Hologram (Lying in Wait)
Czerka Scientist (Twin to 10dmg shooters)

Pieces to know (attackers, not exhaustive):
Cad Bane (54pts, Double-Twin-GMA)
Bossk, Ultimate Predator (52pts, Double-Opportunist-Backlash-WeaponsExpert)
Boba Fett, Assassin for Hire (50pts, Triple-GMA-Accurate)
Embo (42pts, ChargingAssault-Twin)
Black Krrsantan (41pts, 30dmg-Double with 3 modes of attacking and Never Upset a Wookiee)
Zaalbar "Big Z" (40pts, 20dmg-Opportunist+20-DoubleClaw with Never Upset a Wookiee, cannon shot to Mission Vao)
Morrigan Corde (31pts, ChargingFire-Twin, nearly unstoppable damage)
Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler (28pts, GMA-Double-Twin-Opportunist for 80dmg total)
Mira of Nar Shaddaa (28pts, Satchel Charge, Twin, Overloaded Grenades, Rigged Detonators)
Jarael (23pts, Parry/Evade)
Blizz (20pts, Flamethrower 20 and Missiles 30)
IG-86 Assassin Droid (17pts, Opportunist)

Some squads:
Talon "Why Don't We Have Both"
Talon "Boba Has Talons"
Talon "Flowers Getting Karrded"

You can take almost any combination of the above attackers alongside Talon Karrde and have a good squad. The best combination (and how much additional tech to include) is up for debate.

ATTA/RoS newcomers:

All of the new Fringe pieces in Always Two There Are and Rise of Skywalker (Vset 20) were mentioned in the subfactions thread, but two in particular should be very useful outside of their subfactions.

Teek is Speed 12 Distraction piece that doesn't need any Ewok boosts to be useful.

Dug Thug is a Twin Attacker with Quick Draw that can be a serious Gallop/Strafe deterrent, even outside Hutt Cartel.
