How close was the round 3 game between Tim and Laura? I see the score was close, but did she have any chance at a 3pt win? It's amazing how much that swung the leaderboard. 155pts in that game left Laura in 6th place. But with 45 more pts (and a win) she would have gone all the way up to 2nd with the tiebreaker over Jason, and she would have been in the finals.

I beat the Talon squad that won the event, so...

The game with Tim was close right up until it wasn't. I had a chance if a couple inits had gone my way.

Here is my play report.

Before the tourney I asked Laura if she could help me get a squad for this tournament. I asked if she had any updates to her TaTas squad that she played before with Talon and Talzin.

She fiddled with it a bit and basically the answer was in order to include Talia, you had to drop Embo. I wanted to play Embo as I thought in the current meta that I wanted the deep strike of Embo. I do think in other metas, a version without embo and with Talia can be a great squad.

Rd 1 I played against Laura
Her sith squad had too much beef (and too much soresu even with plasma bolt). I did some damage with some guys, but my guys were just too squishy to hold up. Embo dropped early after doing some damage to plagueis. It was downhill fast after that. Laura had a couple nice easy path, run and do assault with Bane, then another one later with I think Bandon to get a key hit on someone. I managed to kill off Bandon, and some fodder before finally killing Plagueis, and succumbing to Bane.

0-1 with 1pt

Rd 2 vs Adam
This was a bad match for Adam as I had cloaked accurate shooters with really good lines. He had a really nice move with Black K using Craddosk CE to attempt to kill Mother T who was up a little too far, but he rolled a 1 for the attack, and it went south really fast for him after that. If he had killed mother T, it would have made thing a much closer game.

1-1 4pts

Rd 3 vs Shawn and his Vong
Again the accurate shooters were the key. Nearly his whole squad had stealth, so took some pot shots trying to get through the dovin basil, but as Shawn tried to advance he had to separate a bit from the dovin basil keeper and I took my shots then. Was able to take out his three main attacks with some nice shots, an embo charge, and a won init by the top of rd 3 or so earning a concession from Shawn very early on.

2-1 7pts


Finals vs Trevor.
The youtube video is great.

One point to clarify. I pulled embo back in rd 1 because the door had shut on the R7 and I needed to get it out. Games against Trevor are always great and a good time and fun was had by all. Key point of this game was the won init where I was able to use Embo to kill his Mira. I also think the fact that I had run nearly the exact squad TINT was running in a previous tournament also helped me know how to work to defeat it.
