Ok, so if I were playing Sith Eternal emperor which has a CE that increases range of allies force powers by 2 and I use chain lightning or something similar does it just increase the range of the targeting aspect or does it change the area of the damaging aspect as well. Chain lightning is currently range 6, enemies within 3 of target take damage. Would that then become range 8, enemies within 5 take damage? Or is it range 8, enemies within 3 take damage? Or is it range 6, enemies within 5 take damage?

Range 8. Characters within 3 would take damage.

So by that definition it would be range 8, enemies within 3 take damage. Just want 100% on if it increased the "range " on the damage effects as well as in that instance there is a range.

The force power's range is when you are counting squares from a user to the target(s).

The area of effect "range" (counting squares from a target or square) is not extended.

That is what I thought. Otherwise that would be pretty broken.

That would be pretty bad since you were responsible for designing it. LOL
