if your character is attacking someone with an attack of oppertunity, can he use opportunist? since the character is activated? or not...? :) so the real question is, can you use opportunist on someone elses turn...?

Opportunist affects any attacks a character makes. It would apply to AoO's if applicable.

yes, but i guess what im trying to say is a character having his turn, and moving away from my guy with opportunist, is he considered activated. -> if he is, opportunist would kick in, but if he isnt, it wouldnt. so is he or isnt he..? not quite hamlet, but close enough.... :)

thanks guys

The moment a character's turn starts, they are considered activated, thus Opportunist applies.

Keep in mind that this also means that getting an AoO from a cunning character will hurt you less since cunning won't kick in.

Peace

Not always. You can have a character who has not activated provoke attacks of opportunity via abilities and force powers that let your character move or take a turn outside of their activation, such as Intuition or Flow Walking.

Emp dragon is always on point with putting stuff into simple terms.. Yea only time an ability, etc wouldnt cuz an attack of opp when affecting a characters movement is if its stated on the card. Alot of abilities like that to where they grant the ability to move away will say this does not provoke attacks of oppurtunity (such as Lifting & Heavy Lifting)
