Seeking fun concept squads for introducing people to SWM Options

I have a friend who does Warhammer and is trying out SWM for a simpler play experience. He likes the Republic best (clones and jedi)- what are some squads paired against each other that play "fun" against each other, with interesting synergies or lots of maximizing strategies and reward fine tuned playing, without gobs of statcard text? Vsets included!

150 or 200 points. So far, he's used Yoda Kybuck, and the Elite Commandoes. Thinking about Panaka next. Maybe some initiative manipulation. He also likes themes (ie Wookiees) etc.

What competitive matchup squads vs REpublic squads would you suggest? Dark side preferred.

As a first intro game, check out Heroes on Both Sides. That subset was designed to be a 3v3 game that includes most of the important concepts you see in the game.

Not exactly what you're looking for, though.

Thanks, I dont think I have those Vsets- but I can definitely print them out.

Here's the link. First 6 cards:

115pts on each side

Some of the abilities on those cards aren't relevant in the 3vs3 game.

Fives has two abilities that are irrelevant in the 3vs3 (Penetration and Uncovered Conspiracy)
Plo Koon's CE has no effect since there are no Wolf characters in the 3vs3 game.
Grievous' CE has no effect since there are no Battle Droids, and similarly Disciplined Leader doesn't matter.
Kalani's Indiscriminate doesn't matter (no Diplomats, etc.)

So the characters are not as complicated to play as they may look. I've played the 3v3 game multiple times and have had fun with it.
