Hey everyone, it's already time to talk about the monthly tournament for April. Since the Galactic Escalation event is going to be starting soon, some people are concerned about the difficulty of trying to schedule 2 separate games each week. However, it was really helpful (and fun!) a few months ago when Randy organized a Playtest tournament for V-Set 29 and I was planning to do a similar thing in April, this time for V-Set 30.

Therefore, rather than putting people in the difficult position of trying to schedule 2 games per week, I've decided to instead organize the April event as a one-day Vassal tournament. The day? Saturday, April 25. Let's plan to start at 11:00am Central time (that's noon, Eastern time) and play for 3-5 hours, depending on how long people want to go.

Some of you may be wondering, "How is V-Set 30 going?" Fabulously! This is an excellent set, with a whole bunch of cool new pieces. The designs are past the "oops, I didn't see that broken combination" stage and are now in the later stages of fine-tuning and perfecting what is already a good design...but there is still room for adjustment, and that's where you come in!

Do you want a shot at the new pieces before anyone else? Do you want to be one of the heroic, loyal, and esteemed individuals who drives the game forward? Then schedule this event into your calendar and Reply to this post, indicating 1 or 2 factions you'd like to PT some pieces from. I'll send you the stats via BM (along with some suggested core squad builds for those pieces, in case that would help) and you can build whatever 200pt squad you'd like with them. Yes, you will be able to change your squad between rounds during the event, so feel free to build a few squads with your pieces beforehand.

I am interested, I've played SWM since 2007, but never played VASSAL once. Do I qualify?

Cool. I'm most comfortable with Republic, Seps, Fringe, or Sith. Just let me know which one I need to plan for!

I can't get there until about 4pm or so central, but would be up for a game or two if people had a squad and wanted to get a game in
