SWM Vassal Regional 2026 Date: Saturday, June 20 Time: 3:00 pm CST (that's 7:00 am on Sunday in New Zealand, so hopefully some of our NZ friends can participate) Location: Vassal! --> Important: Please read the Standard Protocols for Vassal Tournaments thread, which I've composed to help ensure that things run smoothly for Vassal events. Tournament Format: 200-point constructed (all released V-Sets are legal). We will play in the regular Swiss rounds format, with the number of rounds being based on attendance. The attendance will also determine the number of Playoff Rounds: --- 6 or fewer: Top 2 --- 7-12: Top 4 --- 13-20: Top 6 --- 20+: Top 8 ( "20+?" Yeah, we can dream! lol) Match Duration: All games will be 75 minutes long, once players have completed their setup. Players are responsible for keeping track of the time during their game. Match Reporting: When you complete your game, the winner needs to send me a Private Message on Vassal (not via Bloomail), listing the following: --- the final score (i.e., 200-132). The software I’m using will automatically apply the Points for the match (ie, 3-1), as long as you give me an accurate score. (Telling me that "Pete won 3-1" is not helpful, but telling me that "Pete won 200-132" is helpful.) --- the map that you played on. --- if any player brought in any pieces via Reinforcements/Reserves or some other effect, then list each such piece. Maps: Current restricted maplist - Cloud City - Frigid Outpost - Gangster's Vault - Jungle Tomb - Warriors' Enclave Pairing Software: I will be using the spreadsheet document that I designed for this. For instances when we need to create random pairings, I’ll use the https://www.random.org/lists/ website to come up with the random pairings. I’ll share my screen via Discord when using this randomizer website so that everyone can watch those pairings show up in real time. Registration: Please follow the instructions that I gave in the "Standard Protocols for Vassal Tournaments" thread (linked above). It takes time to input all of the info into the software and onto the Squads & Pairings thread, and therefore please be sure to send me your registration BM at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. And there's no rush in deciding on squads...you can send that info as late as 30 minutes before the start of the event on June 20.

Isn't the point of a regional to play the people in your region?? But if there are Jedi to squish, I will participate

Traditionally, yes. But since we're playing online then everyone is in the same region.

My intention is to make this as well. I might be able to get 1 or 2 more, we'll see. We're not accustomed to VASSAL so that will be the name of the game for the Quad Cities Clan

Actually on second thought, I have a work thing that day, and I have no idea how long it will go, so I may have to give up the first round.

You can make changes at any point (up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the event) by sending me a Reply bloomail.
