Randy over Thereisnotry (3-0) 195 to 57 on Jungle Tomb. I picked The Jedi Exile, Hero of Onderon.

I won map and he let me set up first. I took the Control Room with the Porg planning my attack in the War Room.

He won the Init with Tactician and had me move first. I used Kreia's Manipulation to move up and Hanharr ran up and opened the door. At the end of the round I had everyone in the door ready to assault the monument. Jango ended in gambit.

Thereisnotry won init and went first. I used Kreia's Manipulation to spread out some and make him choose between Outcast or Exile. The True Mandalorian Supercommando went for Kreia. My free Lightsaber Defense paid off. Hanharr and Jaq slammed him with 160 damage. Jango punished Hanharr with 60 damage for his insolence. The Exile used a Force Point to get next to Django and another Force Point to hit him once. Kreia Hit him twice for 40/40. Jango was still standing at 50 HP.

Django was once again unchained. He jumped into cover in the upper left corner and separated Hanharr from the Force. The Exile and The Outcast went after his other characters. 70 Damage on the Uberman and 20 on the captain. The captain moved away and hit The Jedi Exile. Jaster headed for cover. Jaq took out the second Uberman and missed Django.

The Captain went first and dropped fire on the Exile and the Outcast. (Two can play that game) T3 Targeted Django and flamed him. Jaq based him and gave him a kiss goodnight. More Fire from Jaster.

Instead of holding back in gambit for my last 4 points, I charged Jaster with my whole team. Kreia took the final honors hitting on her first attack for 40 damage... Game, Set, Match.

Good Hunting Trevor, see you in the finals...

Mando (3pts) defeats Urbanshmi (1pt) : (188-97)

We played on Laura's map, Frigid Outpost. Laura got a lot of rounds of gambit and Luke and Mara ganged up on Sarro to take him out, negating my synergy attack bonus and my Jar'kai style. However, to take out Sarro, Luke had to take a lot of hits and When I won init, Sarro finished dealt Luke a lot of damage with a double cunning attack with a free Jar'kai attack paired with Cunning attack. Lor San Tekka did his best to try and help Luke survive but the amount of attacks was too much and when Luke got down to 20hp, Johun force pushed Luke to take him out. Mara got some blocks in and took out Sarro after he ran out of force points. The rest of the game was getting Raskta Lsu into gambit and attacking Ganner and the droid duo which took a while because of the loss of Jar'kai and disruptive. The uggie and Jedi Armorer ended up getting taken out and Laura got a couple more rounds of gambit before the end. Good game! The Lightsaber Protection definitely helped me get the win as both Luke and Mara at one point rolled a crit each and that could have really swung things the other way if I hadn't had the ability to reduce the damage.

Round 2:
Result: DarkDracul 202 – Spryguy1981 121
Map:Command Deck

Squads:

-DarkDracul — Atris & Sisters (170 points)
- 45 Valenthyne Farfalla
- 41 Atris
- 69 Echani Jedi ×3
- 11 Teethree (T3-M4)
- 4 Loth-cat
Farfalla's Reinforcements: Old Republic Senator (14) and Army of Light Trooper (5).

-Spryguy1981 — Yuuzhan Vong (173 points)
- 28 Tsavong Lah, Warrior Elite
- 27 Commander Tsalok
- 22 Nen Yim
- 22 Nagme, Master Shaper
- 22 Khalee Lah, Warrior Progeny
- 19 Eighth Cortex Shaper
- 18 Yuuzhan Vong Consul
- 15 Yammosk War Coordinator
Eighth Cortex Shaper Reinforcement: Yuuzhan Vong Executor (17).

Round 1
I played from the left side of Command Deck, while Spry set up on the right.
Spry's Yuuzhan Vong presented a particularly dangerous matchup for my Echani Jedi. Force Immunity prevented me from relying on several defensive Force powers, while his Shaper enhancements substantially increased the damage output of his attackers.

Spry selected Commander Tsalok and Tsavong Lah for Master Shaper. He also used the Yammosk War Coordinator's Telepathic Insight to copy my Old Republic Senator's commander effect, giving him another way to grant an immediate attack at +10 Damage. Combined with the Yuuzhan Vong Executor, Spry had two potential sources of additional attacks.

Both squads advanced toward the middle of the map. My Echani reached gambit first, and I collected the opening 9 points.
DarkDracul 9 – Spry 0

Round 2
The first major engagement involved one of my Echani Jedi attacking Khalee Lah.
With +17 Attack from Atris's commander effect and Farfalla's Prideful, my Echani had enough Attack to hit Khalee's 17 Defense on nearly any roll.

I rolled a 5 on the first attack, but Spry made his Vonduun Crab Armor save with a 14, reducing the damage from 40 to 30. My Twin Attack hit on a 16, but Spry again made his VCA save, rolling a 19. Khalee survived with just 10 HP remaining. I then activated the Old Republic Senator, granting the Echani another immediate attack at +10 Damage. That attack finished Khalee, giving me the first significant elimination of the game.

Spry retaliated with Tsavong Lah. Using his Shaper-enhanced damage and Yun-Yammka Devotion, Tsavong eliminated my Echani Jedi.
DarkDracul 40 – Spry 32**

Round 3
This was unquestionably the biggest turning point of the game.
Spry won initiative with a modified roll of 22 and had Commander Tsalok positioned to attack an Echani Jedi using Melee Reach 2. With his Master Shaper enhancements and Overwhelming Power, Tsalok was capable of inflicting tremendous damage, and my Echani had limited defensive options against his attacks.

Unfortunately for Spry, the dice completely abandoned him. Tsalok rolled a natural 2 and 3, missing both attacks.
My Echani immediately counterattacked with Twin Attack. Both attacks hit, and Spry failed both Vonduun Crab Armor 6 saves, rolling another 2 and 3! Tsalok took the full 80 damage, dropping from 120 HP to just 40. I then activated the Old Republic Senator and used his commander effect to grant the Echani another immediate attack at +10 Damage. I rolled a natural 17, dealing 50 damage before VCA. Spry initially forgot about the additional damage and rolled his save, but Tsalok was defeated regardless. That was an enormous swing. Spry had won initiative and was positioned to inflict significant damage, only to lose one of his most dangerous attackers without Tsalok landing a single hit that round.

Spry continued fighting, however, and my Army of Light Trooper and Old Republic Senator were eliminated during the ensuing exchanges. Both sides received gambit. Although I had lost two support characters, eliminating Tsalok gave me an important advantage entering the next round.
DarkDracul 76 – Spry 60

Round 4
Although Tsalok was gone, Tsavong Lah remained extremely dangerous.
With his Master Shaper enhancements, Yun-Yammka Devotion, Double Attack, and Cleave, Tsavong could inflict devastating damage against my Echani.

I moved T3-M4 into position to use Flamethrower 20 against Tsavong. The exchange was costly. My Senator was eliminated, and an Echani suffered additional damage after failing Shields. Tsavong made his Vonduun Crab Armor save during the exchange, taking only 10 damage. Spry then used Wall Climber to maneuver Tsavong into position between the wounded Echani and T3. He defeated the Echani and followed up with Cleave to eliminate T3-M4.

My Echani had managed to bring Tsavong down to just 10 HP, however, and Farfalla subsequently finished him.

When Tsavong was defeated, Nagme used Retaliatory Attack, allowing him to make an immediate attack in response to a Unique ally being defeated. Nagme hit my remaining Echani for 20 damage after a successful Shields save.

My Echani then attacked Nagme and rolled a natural 20, defeating him.
By this point, Spry had eliminated most of my supporting pieces and two of my three Echani. His Yuuzhan Vong were proving every bit as dangerous as I had feared.
DarkDracul 126 – Spry 103**

Round 5
With Tsalok, Tsavong, and Nagme defeated, Spry's squad had lost much of its offensive power, but the remaining Yuuzhan Vong could still threaten my survivors. The Yuuzhan Vong Consul used Wall Climber and the Yammosk's stolen Old Republic Senator commander effect to deliver a 40-damage cannon attack against my last Echani.
That left the Jedi clinging to life at just 10 HP.

Nevertheless, the Echani continued fighting and defeated Nen Yim. Eliminating her removed the Shaper damage bonus that had made Spry's Vong so dangerous throughout the game. With his major attackers and principal Shapers defeated, Spry's remaining pieces no longer had the same offensive capability. Farfalla continued advancing and damaged the Yuuzhan Vong Executor, reducing it to 10 HP.
DarkDracul 157 – Spry 112**

Round 6.
My last Echani continued contributing despite having only 10 HP remaining.
The Echani eliminated the Eighth Cortex Shaper, removing another important support character from Spry's squad.
Spry's Yuuzhan Vong Consul managed to inflict 30 damage on Farfalla, reducing him from 110 HP to 80 HP.
Atris then advanced and eliminated the wounded Yuuzhan Vong Executor. Farfalla attacked the Consul, reducing it to 10 HP.
DarkDracul 202 – Spryguy1981 121

This was a much closer game than the final score suggests. I really scraped this one out by the skin of my teeth.

The biggest turning point was the beginning of Round 3. Spry won initiative and had Tsalok in an excellent position to attack, but missed both attacks with a 2 and 3. Then he failed both Vonduun Crab Armor saves with another 2 and 3, allowing my Echani to deal 80 damage before the Senator helped finish Tsalok. Had even one or two of those rolls gone differently, the entire game might have changed.

Even after that setback, Spry continued inflicting serious damage. Tsavong Lah was devastating, using Yun-Yammka Devotion, Wall Climber, and Cleave to eliminate multiple characters. The Yammosk copying my Senator's commander effect also proved particularly dangerous, especially when the Consul used it to bring my final Echani down to 10 HP.

The Old Republic Senator was a double-edged sword. His commander effect was instrumental in eliminating Khalee and Tsalok, but it also gave Spry's Yammosk access to an additional cannon attack. That's something I'll need to consider carefully when choosing reinforcements in future rounds.

I finished with Atris at full health, Farfalla at 80 HP, one Echani Jedi surviving with only 10 HP, and the Loth-cat.
The Echani were excellent offensively, but Spry's Yuuzhan Vong demonstrated how vulnerable they can be when their defensive Force powers are ineffective and their opponents can generate multiple high-damage attacks.

Spry played a tough game, and I was fortunate that Tsalok's dice abandoned him at such a critical moment. After losing two Echani and most of my supporting pieces, I was relieved to have enough left to finish the fight.

DarthMaim defeats Lightsaber 3-0 on Frigid Outpost.
Pretty much lost as soon as I lost the map roll, my 70pts piece was having severe trouble getting anywhere. I'll let Maim give a game report but let's just say that I clearly haven't been renewing my VASSAL die premium membership :P

DarthMaim defeated Lightsaber 169-83 ( 2-0 ) on Frigid Outpost.

I won map roll, so off to the snow to grandmother's house we went. I chose an AOL Consular and an AOL Trooper for Farfallas Reinforcements. Saber chose the left and set up in the area of the snow vehicle and above, so that if I wanted to set any of my guys in the danger zone for him to light up, he could. Of Course I didn't put any of my guys anywhere close to his shooting zone, to blast me to oblivion from his starting zone, so I set-up in the usual areas on the right with my cloaked Queen outside adjacent to the upper middle left portion of the middle, right room, and the remainder inside
and close to the middle door of the room, as close to the middle room door, as possible.

Rnd 1: Saber wins init. We both make the usual slow trek through the cold snow to warmer interiors of the outpost. He has to move A-Rex towards the upper door to gambit, because of the large base. R2 tows a scrub up and lands adjacent to Anakin, and the scrub runs to open the door to the left side of the middle hallway door. I move all my guys to the area in the middle right hallway, giving me the option for them to try and assault bad guys in round 2, from the right side door to the gambit room, or the right door to the long hallway room, just below the main gambit room. Neither of us get gambit.

Rnd 2: Saber wins init again. And because he is the consummate gentleman that he is, he let me go first. Gee, thanks Tongue . I activate my Queen, and she spins, for course. Here's where the fun began; R2 tows Anakin up to the middle of the of the hallway room, just below the gambit room, and R2 overrides the right hallway room middle door open. Anakin charges across the hallway room and out of the room to the hallway where a bunch of my guys were and up to base an Echani Jedi, and uses OWF 2, and in 2 swift strikes with his lightsaber, slices her in half! Scared . An Echani, screaming with vengeance in her heart, moves in to avenge her fallen sister and after 2 swings, connects for 60 dmg on Ani. Then, I activate a scrub. Saber, then, in fear of me charging in to kill Tarkin, smartly he moves him out of the the charging zone. Then, smartly, he moves Ani's annoyning mother, within 6 of Ani, so that if I target him, she would swap places with her beloved son, to sacrifice herself, and to get her son out of "Dodge" and effectively, harms way. The 3rd Echani, smells something rotten in Denmark, so she charges through Anakin's kill zone, and because Saber did not renew his subscription to Vassal ( Ani rolls three 4's ) even himself taking 10 unpreventable damage because of "Whatever it takes", and the Echani moved to Ani's mom unscathed, and took her out in a blaze of glory. Then we went back and forth activating the rest of our squads, and he tried to move A-Rex towards the frey, but because of all the cover terrain in the gambit room, A-Rex got bogged down, in the mud. Then, right before the end of the round, Johun and Farfalla double teamed Ani, and down he went! Saber gets gambit, I do not.

Rnd 3: I finally win an init. Not being able to do much, an Echani decides to deactivate "Doombot". Then we both danced like cats and mice, trying to get the rest of our Forces in combat range, navigating doors and low objects, etc., in the various areas in gambit and surrounding areas. An Echani charges in and slices A-Rex, for 30 dmg, then the T-Rex Counter Pushes her away, before she could swing again. Saber gets gambit, I do not.

Rnd 4: I win init again! I had the dilemma of letting A-Rex "Annihilate" Farfalla, and going after 2 of his main other commanders or running Farfalla to safety. I decided on the first idea ( sorry leader of my team OMG ), and an Echani charged in to base his 501st Leg Comm. and he went down, then she moved 1 square more with R-Cleave, to base Tarkin, and he was dispatched in 2 additional swings of her lightsaber. Ouch time Scared. A-Rex then destroyed Farfalla, completely obliterating him for good measure with a nat 20, for his 4th attack Scared. Then his 501st Clone trooper nat 20's my AOL trooper ( again overkill ), and he dies. Without my fearless leader Farquad, thankfully I had my boy Wicket, who laid down some bamboo rods, and the A-Rex, was stumbling, trying to keep it's head upright. My remaining Echani moved in to swing on A-Rex, and she connected for 20, only to be pushed back with Counter P., only taking 10, after a successful Shields save. Then my Queen moved up to get some action and whacked A-Rex on it's double head, with her giant Queen staff, for a whopping 10 dmg! ( A-Rex down to 70 hp ). End of the round, I get Gambit, Saber does not.

Rnd 5: He wins init! Here's where having not renewed his Vassal subscription hurt, and A-Rex blasted my Queen, but rolled a 1, so he/she had to spend a FP, which turned out to hurt, as the T-Rex missed their last killing blow shot, with a roll of 6, on its Pheremones save! The Queen lived with 20 hp left! An Echani moved in to put a hurt on A-Rex, hitting for 40 ( T-Rex had only 1 FP left and couldn't CP anymore ) and it was down to 30 hp. The remaining Echani charged in to annihilate A-Rex for good measure with a nat 20, ending the T-Rex's day in the snow! Time then ran out, and the round ended, with Saber getting Gambit, and I not, and the game was over, 169-83, with me falling short of a 3-pt win by 6 points, and he falling short of a 1 pt loss by 5 pts. OMG

As Saber mentioned, this would have been an entirely different ball game on his map, the Command Deck, as Frigid O, severely limited his A-Rex, big time! There were a few timely rolls that went against him ( Vassal Dice Gods Cursing ), and he also mentioned during the game that taking out Farfalla was a mistake, as he should have taken out either my Queen, or better yet 1 of her worker bees, an Echani, ( as this would have taken one of my main attackers off the battlefield ).Either way, the trek across the snow, proved to lead to the extinction of his A-Rex, basically at 70pts, almost half the cost of his entire team. As always, good playing with you Saber. Good luck the rest of the tourney!

I would argue that this was a decisive 3-0 victory as I had like a single trooper left.

General Jan Dodonna
[General Jan Dodonna is in a discussion with Luke Skywalker and the Rebel pilots about the Death Star on Yavin IV]

The battle station is heavily shielded, and carries a firepower greater than half the star fleet. Its defenses are designed around a direct large scale assault. A small one-man fighter should be able to penetrate the outer defense.

Red 10
Pardon me for asking, sir, but what good are snub fighters going to be against that?

Dodonna
Well, the Empire doesn't consider a small one-man fighter to be any threat, or they'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans, provided by Princess Leia, has demonstrated a weakness in the battle station. But the approach will not be easy. You're required to maneuver straight down this trench and skim the surface to this point. [shows the pilots an exhaust port on the computer screen] The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station. [shows the pilots a demonstration of a torpedo traveling down the shaft and striking the reactor, destroying the station instantly] Only a precise hit will set up a chain reaction. The shaft is ray-shielded, so you'll have to use proton torpedoes.

Wedge Antilles
[in a private discussion with Luke Skywalker]

That's impossible, even for a computer!

Luke
It's not impossible; I used to bullseye Womp rats with my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters.

Dodonna
[ending the discussion with the other pilots]

Then man your ships, and may the Force be with you.

what a close game

Urban jedi defeats hi-fives 175-125 on frigid outpost

This was a barn burner of a game with all kinds of twists and turns.

I win map, he takes the right. I set up bane and the nexus in the middle.

Rd 1
as in most games this was positioning, until the end of the round where I ran in bane and took out todo 360 who was in the hallway towards the bottom door area. In return I take some damage from IGB

Rd 2
I try and take out IG assassin with bane but he makes too many shield 15 saves and then is able to smoke bane. Bandon magically appears then takes some damage from the new IG that looked nearly identical to the last one. Bandon with rage and double starts working on the new one. Eventually zannah comes in to help as well (although she got tortured on the way up)

Rd 3
Bandon survives because of a 1, then Bandon kills the droid in front of him which allows Zannah to go take out the Assassin droid model. Bandon gets finished off here sometime during the round. Wyyrlock has finally managed to get to gambit by now

Rd 4
Zannah sends some damage back at be with combat expert before he runs away. Then she eventually runs through the top door of gambit to get back to the safety of her remaining friends.

Rd 5
he starts running IGB back towards the action. Zannah dodges some missiles before running to the other side of the wall. Then Wyyrlock uses some lightning on 000 then also ducks behind the corner. His BB9e comes in but forgot to turn on the power to his electrical grid. Gizka dies and respawns to something during this round.

Rd 6
The power grid is still off, the ordnance guy runs up to 000 and then wyyrlock lights them both up for the kills. IGB is almost back to where he can do stuff again. Some more missiles get dodged and one gets partially bubbled.

Rd 7
IGB tries to kill wyyrlock but rolls a 1, zannah gets some damage through on IGB with gizka help. BT1 tries to missile on wyyrlock but he forgot to load it in correctly.

Rd 8
Timer goes off before anyone can go. Zannah does more damage to IGB, Then BT1 finally gets some damage through on Zannah, but IGB can't finish her off (he did need a crit to do it). Wyyrlock punches IGB and almost kills him. But with gambit, I hit 175 exactly.

Zannah had 30 left, Wyyrlkock 30 left, and his IGB had 10 left and BT1 had 40 left. Very close games and early when bane died super easy I felt like I was done for, but some timely rolls (bad one for him and good ones for me) helped turn it around and lead the sith to the victory.

I have doctor's appointments today and I won't be around my computer until tomorrow morning. Sorry for the slight delay. I'll get the results and standings added when I get a chance tomorrow morning and then get the next round of the tournament set up..
