Oh that's right. It was Seth's group that won the team event. Weren't they called YoMoma?

All I can say is wow...what a blast I had!!

A quick recap from my standpoint.

Dynamic Duo: I played the Felucian Warrior on Rancor and Shado Vao as my squad. Played a guy from my area first. He talked about what to play on the way there so I knew what I was in for. He played Darth Krayt and Jariah Syn. I won that one after he based the Felcor and missed some key hits and crab armor saves.

Next I played Bob and Durge had his way with my pieces. Next was Carl who played Cade: BH and Luke Legacy. Again, lots of shooters and Shado ran out of force points so no win there either.

My last match of DD was the most interesting. I played Dennis (aka Boris) from Owensboro. He played GM Yoda and the Jensaarai Defender. After taking down my Shado and his Defender it was all up to Felcor and Yoda. Lets just say after dancing around in gambit he decided to base the Felcor with Yoda. At one time for 2 init rounds in a row I made 8 parry saves. We had a really good laugh about it and so did everyone around us watching.

150: I played GGDAC, HK-50, IG-86, San, Uggie, BDO, and Battle Droids. First round, played the same friend from my area again and it was close but I finally took down Malak and time was called.

Next was Mickey's son Michael who played GMY, Rangers, Sevs, Mouse droids, R4, and R2-doombot. My saving grace was that I was able to take down Yoda in this game. If I hadn't...it would've been no contest. We both had some fun towards the end of the game saying silly little things and just laughing about the rolls we had.

3rd round was Jason. He won map and knew every little detail about it. Considering I hadn't ever played on Taris undercity I was in for a beating. And yeah...thats what kinda happened. But still, it was fun.

Last round was Mickey. He played NR with Mara Jedi, Kol, Leia, Wedge and some support (I believe..saw lots of squads that day). I was able to take down Kol but my droids were doomed with the evade out there. Mickey won that one but it was close..very very close. Tongue

The 100 team: We were team M.A.K and ended up finishing 2nd overall. That was actually A LOT OF FUN!!! Kudos to Carl with the idea and I would love to do that again. My squad this time was Xizor, TBSV, Czercka, Mouse, San, and an Uggie.

Played Mickey's team first and played Mickey again. He had NR again and it was another close one. Considering I hit both Xizor's reserves and San's. (again..my bad) We had a good laugh about that one. He won by points (most definately) and it was on to round 2.

Next was the Owensboro guys. Played Gray with a deep strike stealty NR squad. He played the cover game EXTREMELY well and my squad bit the dust.

Finally it was us vs YoMomma. I played Matt with a very awesome NR vong squad. He played Garm and brought in some wookies and the Ithorian commander as support. That one was another close one but once he offed my Czercka and one TBSV it was all over.

For those wondering we had 5 guys come down with us and although they didn't have a team for the 100pt fun, they found a 3rd and had some fun.

All in all it was an great time for us!!! A big thanks to the Carbondale guys for hosting us, to Jim for the astounding prize support for the team game, and another big thanks for the Owensboro guys coming out. It was great to meet some new faces and play some fun games.

Hi everyone, I'd just like to start out by saying that I had a blast at the convention. Seth did an excellent job running the dynamic duo and 150 and Carl's team event was probably the most fun I've had at minis in a good long while. Also, thanks to Jim for the CS complete set for the team event prize support. Now, before I go into an event report based on my games, let me apologize if I don't remember everyone's names. It was such a long day, and I was suffering from lack of sleep, that some of the details are fuzzy. I will say that everyone I played were awesome players and great to play against. Everyone had a great time and I hope we can all get together again sometime. And Carl's team event, in my opinion, is definitely a keeper. I'll try to make this a brief recap but I had so much fun that it probably won't be. Apologies in advance if I ramble on.

DYNAMIC DUO

For dynamic duo I ran Boba, MC and Kreia. In the first match I played against Matt McChristian who was running Corran Horn and Cade. I ended up winning that match. 1-0. Matt's a great guy to play against.

In my second match I played one of the guys from St. Louis. He was running Durge, JH and Dooku. It was pretty close for a while, thanks to Dooku's Lightning but then Durge rolled a 1 on Kreia and the game was over a few minutes later. After the match, we both laughed at the betrayal. 2-0 now.

In my third match, I played Jonathan Bryson who was running GMYoda and a defender. As the match progressed, I took out his defender and he took out my boba (I forgot about boba's flight)Cursing. We rolled for initiative with my Kreia having 20 hp left, and Yoda with still about half. If he won the roll, I knew I was done. He won, and rolled a 1. I didn't get excited because Yoda could reroll. He rerolls, and rolls a 1OMG Game over and I was 3-0. I just could not believe it.

In the last match, I played Bob. He took out my Kreia, and I took out Dooku. I won init, and took shots at Durge, who had 60 hp left. First cunning hits, 2nd, I rolled a 1.Cursing Bob won and I was 3-1. Still, I had a blast with every match.

150 pt

In the 150 constructed I played Amidala, Rex, Tarpals, R2, four uggies and 6 gungan artillerists. I ended up going 1-3. Two of my matches were close, decided by points after time ran out. I lost to Matt Spry from St. Louis by around 5 points. I don't remember the specifics about all my matches but I do know that I got destroyed by Kristin who was running a Reikken, TBSV squad with Cade and some other shooters. I killed nothing, my only points coming on gambit. It was still a blast though.

Team Tournament.

I was part of Team Yomomma with Seth and Kristen. I was running 2 ossus guardians, Garm, and an uggie. I had a number of reinforcement options but each game I played I ended up needing the acts so after the all-important Ithorian Commander I brought in two wookie soldiers and a Moncal tech specialist.

In my first match I played Jason from Owensboro. He was running GMyoda, Rex, R2 and filler. I was able to take out everything and he only had Yoda left. I had 1 ossus, the ithorian and Garm left. And despite my ossus rolling 4 1's against yodaCursing , I was able to pull out the win. 1-0.

In my second match I played Michael, one of the guys from St. Louis. He was running the map pack anakin, ahsoka, rex, r2, and some filler. This was a very close match, but I was able to take out anakin and ahsoka and win on points. 2-0. At this point our team was 2-0.

Last match I played another one of the St. Louis guys. He was running the new xizor, 2 TBSV's, a Czerka, San, and filler. We played on rancor pit. At the beginning of the match, he was seriously kicking the crap out of me. At that point, I based his TBSV's and killed them. I moved several pieces into gambit. His only offensive piece left was Xizor. While he tried to pick off my gambit pieces, one of which was a full health Garm, I was able to pick off his Caamasi, mouse droid, and San. At that point I won on points and was 3-0. Our team won by around 30 points and we were 3-0 and won the team tournament. Since I had the most points among team members, I got to pick first and chose Aurra Sing from CS. After all was said and done, I ended up with 2 other rares from CS, Kit Fisto and the Picador on Orray, and some commons and uncommons from CS.

Thanks to everyone who came. It was fun to meet and play against people I had never met before. This event was a blast and I hope to see many of you again.
