2.

For a clear shot, you must be able to draw an unobstructed line from any single point on the square the attacker is in, to two opposite corners of the square the target is in.

does the same thing apply for enemies who are on the other side of a doorway that is 1 square wide, and has 2 lips going into the square the target is in?
my example:
THAT STUPID SINGLE SQUARE CLOSET ON THE CLOUD CITY MAP, just north west of the Gambit.

I can't picture that one, will have to look at that map, but you look at the red wall terrain lines and not the wall itself if it extends past a corner.

BTW, Vassal is a great tool for checking LOS and cover on maps. You can place some characters, and then use the LOS tool to check. ThumpUp

the red line thing sells it for me.
people have tried to NOT use that exact same tool on me in vassal.
just so all know, my first Gambit game was a month ago on Vassal.
im used to playing 300 pt armies, where its last man standing....
and thats been that way for me for 3 years plus.
Vassal has a few dirty players, where im told to play one way, and the next match im told to play another....

That would be incorrect. You must draw from one corner of the attacker to all points of the defender, not just the corners.

For instance:

In this picture, the Bith is shooting at the AT-ST, who is in cover. But if you trace only to the corners, you would find no lines granting cover at all. You would need to go beyond the corners to see that there is a low object in the way thus granting cover.

Fair enough - and a great example! BlooMilk

But can you not draw from any point on the attacker?

No, only a corner. This is covered under cover in the "choosing your target" section of the rule book.

Ignore the "opposite corner" thing because it is incorrect. Read a few posts up for the correct answer.
