If I had a CE that helped mercenaries would the follower have to have the SE Mercenary
or could it just be in the followers name?

I think it is only for characters with Mecenary, so no Mon Cal or Duros mercenaries, then.

A Mercenary is defined as a character with the Mercenary special ability.

Having the word "mercenary" in the character's name does not make them a Mercenary.
