I personally think it will be awesome because a) I am 15 so the only Star Wars film I saw at the movies was The Clone Wars. It gives young SW fans ( especially those who enjoyed TCW) a chance to see the originals on the big screen. b) Technology and theaters have changed a lot since the movies came out. That means all the explosions and the epic battles and iconic lines will be in great quality suround sound. And c) Star Wars is AWESOME!!! :D

3. Whenever George has been interviewed, his answers are always about making these movies for kids. I mean, Jar Jar was wildly unpopular with the people who were his original target audience back in 1977, but he was the most popular among their kids. Nowadays it's a cliche, but kids do really understand technology pretty well, and are willing to adapt to it much more so than their parents in many cases. I think this is another step towards making these movies more accessible to kids, by re-making them in the most recent of technologies. Especially since he's about to become a grandfather, he's gonna want his grandkids to see it in the best/newest possible format.

3) in '77 kids weren't the ones going to see Star Wars over and over again. That movie was in theaters for a year. A YEAR. it takes more than crazy kid fans to keep a movie in a theater for a year. a theater that only had one screen mind you. If the 7:00 star wars was sold out, there was no 7:30 or 8:00 show, you waited until 9:30, kids don't do that.

yeah cuz Star Wars should abandon all attempts at re-invention and instead cater exclusively to the old-school fanbase. RollEyes

Where did I say that?
How is re-releasing the movies in 3D re-invention anyway?

Same for who? The original folks who saw it back in the late 70s and 80s? The folks who saw the edits in the 90s and grew up with those or The folks who saw the preqs and grew up with those?
