Matt won the map roll so I set up on the right side. Battle Ready brought his GA guys up toward the middle of the map, and Luke started in the center anyway.

Round 1: I moved my guys up and locked the center door. However, I forgot to wound Leia! This mattered in the next round. Shevu moved up to be in position to attack Sabine at the start of the next round.

Round 2: I won init and moved Sabine to safety; she also blasted a door for Leia to move through. Matt spun some scrubs. I opened the center door with my droids. Ben moved up and used Force Pull to drag Chewie up, but Chewie parried the attack. Matt's Luke attacked Chewie, doing 20dmg. Leia pushed Han and Luke forward. Rebel Luke then used OWF to attack NR Luke...but only did 20dmg per hit, because I had forgotten to wound Leia with Chewie's Roar! So NR Luke lived with 40hp. Jacen used Rage to hit Chewie twice, but Chewie parried one of the attacks. Ben hit Chewie for 20dmg (down to 80hp). Chewie threw 40dmg into Ben, then Han shot at both Ben and Luke, but both shots were Deflected. Shevu ran into position to attack Chewie the next round.

Round 3: Matt won init, and Shevu did 80dmg to Chewie (momentum, cunning, gma double), for the kill. Ouch! However, this left 4 of the NR's main attackers adjacent to each other, so Sabine moved up and tossed a grenade that hit all of them. Only Luke made the save, so the others all took 40dmg. My Luke then finished off the NR Luke. The Yuzzem did 20dmg to Luke (took 40dmg back via Djem-So). Jacen moved up and activated Sith Rage 2 to attack my Luke for 40s. The first attack hit, but Luke blocked it, and hit Jacen with Djem-So for 40. This triggered Predictive Reflexes, which allowed another attack vs Luke (failed Djem-So), and then another hit on Luke, bringing him to 10hp (Djem-So hit again, so Jacen was down to 10hp too). Leia moved up and (with a fprr) shot Jacen. He used Predictive Reflexes to attack Luke again, but Luke blocked it. Han killed Shevu and put 40dmg on the Yuzzem (miserable save dice for Matt). Matt moved some pieces forward, and I locked the door to protect my fragile Luke.

Round 4: I won init and killed the remaining pieces with Sabine and Han after I unlocked the door.


Man, forgetting my Wookiee Roar was a big deal! It could've swung the game, with a few different save results. But as it was, I was able to take Matt's Luke down anyway. Shevu is a weird beast: a basic commander who does 80dmg on the move. He's like a powerful jedi, but he doesn't have a lightsaber and he's allowed to form attachments. Anakin would be jealous. As always, it was a good time playing with Matt.

This game report is mostly irrelevant as I suspect most of the tournament players were lurking in VASSAL watching us, but I'll write it anyway. UrbanShmi's squad seems like it was designed specifically against Hero of Endor squads, between the Interdict cancelling Versatility and Booster's CE granting free shots against anyone who dares to move out of turn.

Round 1: Everyone moves forward, I almost make the same mistake as Trevor did and forgot to Roar at Leia, but Chewie just barely caught up to her in the middle of the hallway. I get gambit due to Luke and the Nexus in the centre. The singular Porg asexually reproduces all by himself. 10-0

Round 2: The Rebels crowd into the Gambit room and the room above, while the pirate Wookies set up a firing line to the west. At the end of the round Teethree opens the door and a singular Wookiee tries to take some shots, but the odds were too high (3720 to 1, to be exact). More Porgs for me! 20-0

Round 3: Chewbacca declares he is Loose and smokes Teethree. The Wookiees attempt to shoot Luke in the centre, but miss against his 25 defence, triggering [3720 to 1] again !! This is the point that I would have lost the game due to my poor interpretation of the rules, but I was assured that the Cloaked lasted until the end of the round (!!) when I thought it was only a phase effect. Luke performs a pre-emptive strike against Sarro, leaving him on 30hp while Luke is pulled back to safety. The Breachman kicks the door down, dealing 10dmg to Sarro. Leia takes a shot at Sarro, who Evades with a FP. Sarro charges in and Brutally attacks Luke, who is saved by the bodyguard Chewbacca. Booster casually dispaches the team mascot (Kneesaa the Brave, may she be remembered forever), and the Wookiees pile in. Gambit for both of us, 36-12

Round 4: Shmi finally wins an Init. Leia takes a Suprise Attack which misses, and Sarro does his best to scrap R2-D2, who survives on 20. Luke gently pushes Sarro over and Artoo runs (wheels?) for his life. The Wookiee Scoundrels fire on their kinsman, who Evades until an attack misses and C-3P0 can /severely/ reprimand the scoundrels. Johun runs in only to be Parried, and gets promptly eviscerated by Han and Chewie, who Cleaves into an unfortunate Mouse Droid. Booster runs in with gun (singular) blazing, dealing a whopping no damage to anyone. Sidon Ithano pulls out an RPG and blows 20hp off C-3P0 and Leia while hitting Booster for 20. Other things happen as well. Round ends 108-22.

Round 5: Once again, I win the initiative and Cleave two Scoundrels with Chewie (who is NOT a jedi). Booster makes one more incredible miss against an adjacent enemy, and all the Rebels are cloaked once again. At this point the game turnied into more of a horror movie, with her pieces unable to see mine so all they could do was run, so we decided to end it there. Final score 130-22, possibly supposed to be 230-22 depending on the forfeit rules.

Another game falls victim to the infamous VASSAL dice. Thanks to [was it Randy?] who pointed out that C-3P0's cloaked lasts for the whole round (!!), which is an unfortunate match-up against a swarm of low-attack, many-attacks Wookiees. Still, without an immediate miss in Round 3, Shmi could have actually attacked which would be helpful for winning. Good game, and good luck for the rest of the tournament!
