Does Son of Skywalker CE effect your own squad as well as your opponents?

Yes. But if you want to run Dodonna all you have to do is include an Ugnaught.

Yeah, Han's CE is a lot more powerful than Son of Skywalker's. I think it's definitely worth building toward Han's CE.

In all honesty, all the new Rebel characters are hard to build around, because it forces you to a have little acts and I feel uncomfortable having little acts.

I think Artoo is the straight out best new Rebel piece. Robust override and a +2 attack attack bonus are both super-helpful, even if he's pricey. You can plug him into a variety of squads.

Is Ben Skywalker the first example of:
- a unique that didn't appear until the v-set being remade
- a v-set piece obsoleting a v-set piece.

The old one wasn't terrible, but it wasn't seeing play.

Domain Lah Warrior made several vset pieces obsolete, so the second question's answer is no.
