I crunched some numbers. It gives the percent of time each map has spent on the Restricted List since it became available (counting since 2010... last year of WotC only maps). I'm not making any particular point here - just putting the data out there.
Percent of time Restricted / Years on Restricted List / Years Available / Map Name
 100%	4	4	Great Library
 88%	7	8	Cloud City
 88%	7	8	Commander's Office
 88%	7	8	Rancor Pen
 86%	6	7	Bothan Spynet
 86%	6	7	Jabba's Palace
 86%	6	7	Anchorhead
 86%	6	7	Rhen Var Citadel
 83%	5	6	Cantina
 80%	4	5	Command Deck
 75%	3	4	Dark Academy
 71%	5	7	Theed Palace
 71%	5	7	Asteroid Base
 60%	3	5	Simulation Deck
 57%	4	7	Offworld Shipping Center
 57%	4	7	Peaceful City
 56%	4.5	8	Grand Plaza
 50%	1	2	Crime Lord's Palace
 50%	1	2	Gangster's Vault
 50%	1	2	Pirate Moon (SW)
 50%	1	2	Knight's Enclave
 43%	3	7	Offworld Cargo Docks
 40%	2	5	Cliffside Citadel
 38%	3	8	Nightclub
 33%	1	3	Mining Colony: Upper
 31%	2.5	8	Hall of Judgement
 31%	2.5	8	Throne Room
 29%	2	7	Smuggler's Base
 29%	2	7	Mos Eisley Residence
 25%	1	4	Imperial Plaza
 25%	1	4	Starport District
 25%	1	4	Tomb of the Acolytes
 17%	1	6	Outlaw City
 17%	1	6	Modular Base

Total number of different maps that have been on the Restricted List since 2010: 34.

wow! well done with that list, very informative.and shows that Cloud City and Commander's Office need to be shelved for a while.

but to be 100% honest. those maps do create an unfair advantage for those that have played them a million times over. I mean TINT is the man, but TINT on a map he knows crazy good (like Cloud City) is even more than man.
Switching them up keeps the playing field that much more level imo as well.

But Smuggler's base is only in 2 out of 7!!! outrageous!!

Grand Plaza = the *old* WotC Muunilist, right? Not the best for sure, but not totally terrible as far as WotC maps go. (Commerce Plaza, lol ) It's been a *really* long time since I went to a regional, but last time I did it must've been like +65% Ruined Base (er, there is a commander's office in there, somewhere) I don't have a horse in this race, but if there is newer content that is *available* and is reasonably balanced compared to the old standards, the new stuff should be used. (keep the map makers interested) IMO

I like the idea TJ had where we keep 2 wotc ones in cycle. If they were particularly popular in the old days that would be the best. I am thinking of the players that are trying to get back into the game or that haven't played for a while. Whatever map they would be most likely to possess would be good to keep around. Rotating maps is awesome, I love the change in tactics and strategies depending on the map lists. Would love to see Outlaw city taken off this year as I believed we abused the heck out of it, lol, myself included. :)

But Outlaw City would probably be the first one that I would keep. It's only been on the list for a year, and I like it way better than the other two maps that are new to the list this year (Modular Base and Imperial Plaza). Great Library would be the first one that I would drop. It's the only map that hasn't had a stint off the list in the past 4 years. @swine: yes, Grand Plaza is an old Muunilist map... the non Commerce one.

This is probably the best argument I've heard for not including any WotC maps. Map rotation helps level the playing field for new players. But I still think it's more important to have a couple WotC options that everyone is familiar with. Also, the WotC maps tend to be owned by a greater percentage of the players.

Death Star and the hardboard, FTW! (they were quite popular in the old days) |

We need to take over the Map List duties from Brad. He is understandably busy and it seems like the time as he does not play any more as well. We didn't get a change for 2018 and we need to be sure to set one for 2019 after GenCon has finished. Weigh in if you will and we can be star to get a tentative list together. Thanks Brad for all your help in the past.

I'd be up for the job, if no one else minds.

            +1.
Not a job I want, but we should get a new list every year. Maybe twice a year (new list right after GenCon, minor tweaks in April/May).

Agreed. Specifically minor tweaks only if something is found to be abusive |

That's one reason, but I'd also consider including new maps if something is released between September and April. Otherwise, I'd just go for a new list once per year in April.

If it were me, I'd put out a list right after GenCon to coincide with the GenCon release Vset. Then open a forum in May to discuss any 1 map per list that may be abusive. I would also stay with the Darkside/Lightside format.

Have Shawn create new map lists for a final 2/3 approval by him, FlyingArrow, and myself. That way it's not entirely on one person's shoulders.
TJ is super knowledgeable about maps and I usually update map thread images. Having us involved but with Shawn doing all the real work makes sense to me.

            That's a great trio.
I know Kezza has done a lot with the maps, and he'd be great as well.

Deri is one of the best map analyzers I've known.

Put them on there and that's a solid ass committee

I'd rather not be on the committee, but I'll continue to post opinions here.
