This will be my first GenCon and I am wondering if anybody can go or if you have to qualify to get in. I heard about a GenCon badge what is this? Lastly why is it that there is tons of info on last years tourneys but I can't find anything on regionals or state tournaments for 2012.

There are a lot of threads about the 2012 regionals in this section, so I'm not sure where you're looking that you aren't seeing them.

In order to go to GenCon, you have to purchase admission to the convention (a badge). The majority of the regionals offer a badge and entry to the tournament for the first-place winner. However, as mentioned above, anyone can buy a badge and a ticket to participate in the championships at GenCon. The badges are just offered as an incentive to get as many top players as possible to come.
