is a character(for the sake of the mercenary commander) with the name mercinary get it or have to have the mercenary special ability(this is for boba merc.)?

The only figures that require Mercenary's state "with Mercenary", thus only apply to figures with the SA.

So boba doesnt get it? oh well didnt think he did, but it would be cool.

wait...Xizor's CE is to all characters even to ones with the name with no ability, wouldnt boba also get this one from the mercenary commander???

No, for multiple reasons.

Xizor is a specific exception, which is why the errata was needed. When first released, remember he only worked with those with the Black Sun SA. When a "trait" is referred to, and it actually does something by itself (see Droid, Bounty Hunter), you must have the Special Ability. And again, both Nym and the Commander say "WITH Mercenary".

Actually the card says: Mercinary Followers within 6 gain furious assault and deadeye.

it doesnt say with mercinary it says mercinary followers.

this is for the new mercenary commander not Nym,

Odd, since the card in front of me says "Followers with Mercenary..."

Boba has 2 have the mercenary SA, & he doesn't.

Oh yeah just looked at it again, they should make a guy who gives out mercenary.

oh well didnt think he got it in the first place.

You say you want someone that gives Merc now... but when your character has Merc, can't move and can only attack an uggie... or a Shocktrooper with a 32 defence... then you will be trying to get that commander killed. And if your oponent is smart... you won't get him killed.

Mercenaries take some skill to play. The new commander helps (more damage when they are forced to stand still and shoot), but careful positioning is still needed to make good tactical use of them.

The Gotal Mercs are cool in this regard as they have Intuition which helps them activate out of LOS to an enemy (if you choose to, and if possible at the time), so you can get off some Furious Assaults ThumpUp

They are fun to play (IMHO) once you get the hang of it BigGrin
