I've completed the V-Set extension for Vassal.

Quick instructions:
1. Find and delete your current file called "Virtual Sets.mdx" It should be found in your [VASSAL/SWMinis_ext] folder.
2. Download the new file from here: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=24FF31140263D0A4&id=24FF31140263D0A4%21260&authkey=%21AGRToDXmlIVIpP4
3. Open Vassal, find the small Vassal window that comes up. R-click on the "SWM Skirmish Game" file, and choose to "Add Extension" Find and select the newly downloaded "Virtual Sets.mdx" file; it will be added in the dropdown menu beneath your "SWM Skirmish Game" file.
4. Double-click on the "SWM Skirmish Game" file to start SWM, as normal. Your screen should now look like this:

Notice how it lists the mod as being "SWM Skirmish Game version 11.0" and "Virtual Sets 8.0 loaded" (not 7.0).

When I download this and try to start it on vassal it keeps saying the download isn't a valid file. Please advise.

Is the file you downloaded named "Virtual Sets.mdx"? If it isn't that file then you need to get the proper file.

It's also possible that you might need to update your Vassal Engine (the engine, not the SWM Skirmish mod):
Vassal Engine The current version is 3.2.13; download and Install that one.

That's wierd. My suggestion is to delete everything and start again. Follow the two videos on this site:

Or give me a call and I'll get on Skype and talk you through everything.

There are so many ads at 4shared.com with fake download buttons that I can't tell which one is the real one. The one that I think is the real one asks me to sign up (or sign in with a social network account) before downloading. Is that the right one?

Yeah, maybe that's the problem. How about I send the file to you, Dave, so that you can host it on your Dropbox site? Then I'll post that link in the first post of this thread.

Extension is now added to my file share, for anyone having trouble getting it from 4Shared.

I've also changed the link in my instructions above; the link now goes to Swinefeld's file share.

This will be buried in the scroll eventually. It should be mentioned in the sticky thread in the Vassal forum.
