I know that characters with Force Spirit 4/6/8/12 can use that power while in the Y bubble because they aren't spending force points so this may come under that same umbrella. Those are good precedents to follow, especially given the specific wording used in the CE.
Ruling:
The 'free' use of Lightsaber Defense can be used to respond to an attack from Force-immune characters.
Of course, you still cannot spend Force to reroll that save.
