I was playing at a tournament last night and the issue of reserves was brought up. Our rules expert said that you could bring in reserves as many times as it triggered. My thought was it was a one time deal based on how bloo milk's squad builder treats reserves. So my first question is which way is reserves treated in an official tournament.
My second question has to do with declaring reserves if they trigger each time. Do I declare every reserve I want to bring in with pieces that can bring them in?

OK, for your first, yes it is triggered every time, notice on the squad builder it says "preferable reserves" so that means what you would want first.

second, yes you have to say which reserve it is, unless there is only 1 reserved character.

and you dont have to bring in reserves if you dont want to, but you cant go over the reserved cost,

so if you have Kaz, than you could get 90 points of reserves by the 3rd round, it would be hard but you could do it.

You don't have to list your reserves for the match. You can decide what to bring at the point you make the roll.

True. But spending excessive time deciding can be declared delay-of-game.

Most people pick out a handful of pieces for it beforehand and keep that with them from round to round. Some tournament organizers require it, in fact, and only allow you to choose from that pool of pieces.

I believe there is a time limit on how long you can spend deciding on the characters for the Reserves. (can't find it officially, but I'll look for it)

I have a question for Reserves. If there were multiple people (Lobot, CLO, RBSV, and Xizor), would you have up to 70 points of reserves (30,20, and 20)?

I believe so, yes.

If they all trigger on the same initiative roll, yes. There are several that do as well. It seems 11 is the choice of roll on most of those.

Yes and if you have 2 of the same character, say the RBSV, you would get both of their's.
However, remember that each instance of Reserves does not add up, they are taken each individually. So the "70" points of reserves would have to be 30, 20, and 20...not 70 total.
