First off, a question: do I have to choose one map and go with that the entire time? It won't affect my decision much, but I am curious. My squad is this: --The Return of the Grand Master-- 115 Grand Master Luke Skywalker 38 Kol Skywalker 25 Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight 21 Felucian x3 (199pts. 6 activations)http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/165379/the-return-of-the-grand-master Caedus has: --Bounty Hunters-- 44 IG-88, Bounty Hunter 32 E522 Assassin Droid 31 Chewbacca with C-3PO 28 Luke Skywalker of Dagobah 23 Nikto Gunner on Desert Skiff 19 Princess Leia, Hoth Commander 12 Garindan 11 BoShek (200pts. 8 activations) My map is Rhen Var Citadel. Whichever side I start on, I rush into gambit ASAP. It's a weird matchup, since I have all melee and he has all ranged. He's got some beefy shooters, but GM Luke has 27 Defense in cover - which only IG-88 can effectively penetrate on his own - two Lightsaber Defense uses, and free rerolls. Keep Leia near Luke but out of sight, keep Luke in cover taking shots, and keep Kol out of the action until they get close. If Caedus's guys get to gambit first, Luke and Kol will run in and smash them. If I get to gambit first, Caedus has to get close to open the doors to shoot at me. Once he does, I can either push his door-openers away with Kol, or just come up and destroy them. Even if Leia and Kol go down, Luke will be a royal pain to deal with since IG is the only solid threat to him, and Luke's cost is over half of the squad, so there's little chance of winning via gambit unless I get locked out of the room. (This space reserved for counter-strategy once Caedus's map is known)

I honestly don't see the BH squad being able to hang with GMLS. Rerolls, coupled with high defense makes my pick for this to be the Jedi Academy squad.

GMLS is just a royal pain that is very hard to kill, so I have to go with the Return of the Grandmaster (JA).

I don't know much about JA, because I don't own anything from the set, I'm a bit confused by the BH squad. Leia, Hoth Commander is a great piece, but you need non-uniques for her to be great. The only non-unique piece in the squad is the Skiff, which isn't really competetive anyway. What's the idea behind this?

Jedi Academy. That's a tough squad for a format like this.

Jedi Academy on this one. GMLS and Kol are just to tough to take down with Leia around.

Jedi Academy in this matchup here. Now if BH had included Boba and he rolled a timely crit, well then that would be a very different story |

IG-88's Flamethrower may put some damage on Luke before he bases and decimates him with Triple/Twin. That guy is just so beastly...
Gotta vote for JA on this one, BH just really didn't have all that many great pieces to build with.

These games are (generally) won by votes instead of luck (dice) because it's easier to talk hypotheticals than to get everyone to find a free couple hours (at the same time) to get their games in.
