Set vs Set tournament
Renegades & Rogues + Battle of Theed - Starkiller97 vs The Clone Wars + Starter Set + Clone Wars Battles - jak
Post your squads and explain why you will win. Everyone else - vote publicly for who you think will win. I'll track votes in this top post. (I reserve the right to exclude votes based on suspected sock puppet accounts.)
If anyone plans to play this match, please post that you plan to. Others may want to wait to see a play report before voting.
If both players agree to play this out instead of having the community vote, then the vote will be ignored and the results of that match will stand.
Voting ends December 15, 2015, 3:00pm EST (New York time).
=== Currenlty 6-1 for Clone Wars

http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/165372/clone-wars--clone wars-- 57 General Grievous, Droid Army Commander 30 IG Lancer Droid 25 Chameleon Droid 18 Super Battle Droid Commander 32 IG-86 Assassin Droid x2 12 Gha Nachkt 18 Battle Droid Sniper x2 5 Rocket Battle Droid 3 Battle Droid (200pts. 11 activations) R&R squad lacks evade or stealth, leaving hem open to my shots. IG's would kill troopers in 1 activation, with twin and opportunist a nice twining strafe will weaken alot of defenders 2 accurate shooters allow me to target anyone I see. if you make it to base the chamo droid, you may take 20 damage for the privilege to attack. oh, don't forget GGDAC shooting Jedis from afar, or doing more damage close up. I out activate this squad, so that helps(opportunist) I really think this would be quick slaughter for my droids

I have to second the Clone Wars, lancer/IGs/Chameleon is a swiss army knife of death against poor Kavar. Atton would be the strongest asset but going against droids really kills his usefulness

If Starkiller doesn't present his case before tonight, I vote CW, but I'd like to see Starkiller's strategy if possible. Seems like it could be affected by maps quite a bit.

Mine: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/165375/sosFirst off, this will be a challenge for me 😢, but anything can be done. On my map, door control WILL play a big part and from what I can see his squad has none. So I will be taking advantage of that. Now I do understand that my Opp/Dec wont come into play seeing as he out acts me. My gunners however will however will play it safe (as in hiding in my spawn, taking pop shots). What I will do, is run into gambit locking out the speeder, who most likely poses as my biggest threat. I welcome everyone else. Kavar (imo) is a tank, him and Atton + Brianna will make slight work of Assassin droids, and if General wants to come in, Kavar will handle him. Now like I said it's not the best match up for my squad. This will be a game of doors on my map. But I think it can be done. If I force some of his squad into a room with Kavar and make it so he cant shoot and run. I think I stand a chance once Kavar has weakened his force and GM/Door control comes more into play. Plus all my CE really do help.

I'll look at it closer later, but Jak's squad has massive internal synergy. Dividing by sets means that most of the great combos can't be used, but Jak's squad has 4 pieces that really set the bar high for what minis can do. Twin Lancer is a classic threat, and IG-86s with Twin beats most things in its price range for effectiveness.

Jaq is the only override piece on enemy squad, so he'll be accurate shot 1st!

Nothing personal obviously, but I really like seeing WOTC squads dealing to v-set squads. IMO there has been a degree of power creep with the v-sets, but it's looked worse than it is because: - more extreme squad types are possible (tanks, swarms). - less filler pieces in sets - most pieces are at least semi-competitive. - standalone pieces like big Sith lords tend to be much stronger than their WOTC counterparts - mostly because the WOTC ones were nowhere near good enough and couldn't keep up with synergy/CE driven squads. Quote:Mace Windu, Lightning Squad Leader This is a prime example of everything that is wrong with the virtual sets. This figure should cost over 200 points with everything it has here, yet it's priced at a quarter of that. Who ever made this figure should be ashamed of themselves. ~Zuty

I don't understand the quote? That Mace should NOT cost 200. He's not even close to OP, and he's a large base .

Just illustrating the perception from some people that there's masses of power creep from WOTC to the v-sets.

I officially vote Clone Wars. Really tough matchup, especially with Kavar being a huge tank with Niman, but Grievous's CE lets the IG-86's hit Kavar on a 7 (or 11 in cover), and that's just too much for Kavar to deal with, I think.
