If you could choose one squad that you think really represents everything you love about SWMinis, what would it be? Doesn't have to be competitive (though it can be), you can break as many rules as you want. It can be a 165-pt squad if that's how you like to play, just post a squad that you have fond memories of, or is your favorite to play, or that you think just really sums up everything you like about minis or sums up your play style. (If you do go competitive, feel free to choose a competitive squad from yesteryear and explain why it was top dog back then).

Looking forward to your responses! ThumbsUp

Mine would be one of the following:

--Defenders of Peace--
55 General Obi-Wan Kenobi
40 Luminara Unduli, Jedi Master
30 Barriss Offee, Jedi Knight
28 Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler
23 Captain Panaka
13 Heavy Clone Trooper
6 Ewok Scout
3 Mouse Droid

(198pts. 8 activations)

General Obi-Wan was the first really good beatstick I got. One of my favorite tricks is to pull the Barriss + Luminara combo with the General. This squad in particular I remember fondly, because even though Panaka wasn't in there for any specific purpose, he pulled some great shenanigans throughout the game. I'd swap Obi out for Dash (I'd have a Mouse out in the middle within range). Dash would have 23 defense in cover, and made an absurd amount of Evade saves. I'd heal Obi with Barriss, and then swap Dash and Obi next round so Obi could take some more hits. Later in the game, as Dash continued to own the Evade rolls, my opponent started basing him - Dash would annihilate them after, but they did get him down to 10 or 20 HP. Finally, my opponent's Stormy Han Furious Assaults up next to both Dash and Panaka (who will both die if hit). He shoots Dash first, Panaka bodyguards and dies but deprives Han of his second attack. Dash then destroys Han. I ended up losing (it was a strange 3-way battle), but it was fun. Aside from that, GOWK is one of my all-time favorite pieces.

My other choice:

(Mixed factions)
--Corellian Comedians--
45 Jensaarai Defender
25 Leia Skywalker, Jedi Knight
14 General Rieekan
8 R4 Astromech Droid
5 Stormtrooper
3 Mouse Droid

(100pts. 6 activations)

This was when I first got into minis, and before we had enough pieces to run faction games. The squad synergizes really well, partially due to a rules mishap - we thought the Jensaarai made the Draw Fire save. So when someone would shoot at Leia or Rieekan, the Jensaarai would Draw Fire - rolling up to 3 times if necessary. That Stormtrooper was invincible, by the way. He once sat in a pool on Yavin and survived several shots from fairly good mid-range shooters without any sort of cover, just base 16 Def and Evade. This is also the squad I've mentioned before that would get trounced by an enterprising Darth Bane BigGrin

This squad, which I played recently in testing, feels very quintessentially me:

--*** Resistance--
29 Ganner Rhysode
28 Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler
25 Callista, Force Spirit
25 Rey
21 ***
19 Finn
18 Lando Calrissian, Dashing Scoundrel
10 Jagged Fel
10 R2, GH
9 General Dodonna
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
(199pts. 12 activations)

New Republic pilots squad are totally what I like to play the most, even if it's maybe only Tier 1.5 or Tier 2. Dash is always a favourite, and I really like Rey as well.

--First Squad Ever--
55 General Obi-Wan Kenobi
40 Luminara Unduli, Jedi Master
30 Barriss Offee, Jedi Knight
60 Antarian Ranger x5
9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

This is literally the first squad I ever created. I had a friend that used to run a droid army with Grievous and Wat Tambor. I would tow GOWK to get to them while the others had the Defense to contend with the others. My other friend would run Beatsticks, this was my best option until I understood the game better.

Fellow GOWK/Mirialan guy! Great! ThumbsUp We need to come up with some clever name for that squad base.

And the Antarians are a perfect complement. Nice squad ThumpUp

@TheHutts: Wow, that squad looks really interesting. It looked low on firepower at first, but it's got a lot of solid mid-range threats. I'm sure the mystery piece really fills it out nicely too.

Keep 'em coming!

I'd also like to open this up to any of the TN guys who have a fun squad using Legends pieces.

That's a nice one! That's Mit'thrawn, right? Were Bossk and Jarael there as hefty swap fodder or interference/backup fighters?

Gotta love that Bossk TH ThumbsUp One time my opponent light tutored him with the Dark Woman, and he ended up being the only person with Force when his Qui-Gon Jedi Master died, so Bossk had 7 FP and Master of the Force 2 LOL LOL LOL

mine has to be a shout-out to solo charge. I have played that squad more times then every other squad combined.

Ah, yes, the classic. I still need to figure out how to run that squad, I have honestly never tried it before.

That's Solo Charge. It would have to be tweaked with the change to Gha and Mouse Droids now, though. Off the top of my head I'd probably go with an R7 and 2 Ugnaughts.

What's Imperial Governor Tarkin helping with in this squad? I don't see many synergies for him.

I think he meant the legacy of the force vader that gives extra attack

Sharron used to use a Vong Ossus Protector in that spot. Tough bodyguard helps.

Hmmm... I thought there was usually a TBSV in that build. Must be thinking of someone else.

Giving Lord Vader his Double/Twin without using Assault could be awesome. He could swap in for a Double/Twin/Sith Rage/Overwhelming Force/Opportunist strike for 160 unpreventable damage. Also Doctrine of Fear for the rest of his squad.

That's a good option, too. My mind always just goes to more door control as the first option to open up Lobot's reinforcements, since you often want more than just Lobot himself as door control and having the full 20 points to play with can be helpful.

Sorry, yes Legacy of the Force Vader is correct.

@thehutts

It was an early build using minis that we owned at the time. It was not perfect by any means, but I loved being able to just run Vader out in the open and he always came through with some beast mode.
