Heading into a new regional season and I know in the past that the map list has changed around this time every year. What do people think about the current restricted list? Does Brad need to do anything or is the list fine? More maps? Less maps? Take map x off? Add map x back?

Please discuss.

Current Map list

A
Nightclub
Gangsters Vault (MP6)
Pirates Moon SW (MP6)
Crime Lord's Palace (MP6)

B
Rancor Pit
Jabba's Palace (MP4)
Anchorhead (MP2 and also standalone release)
Cantina (standalone release)

C
Dark Academy (MP5)
Knight's Enclave (MP6)
Great Library (MP5)
Rhen Var (MP4)

No major problems with the map list, but I prefer to see a bit of a rotation for the sake of variety.

Nightclub - drop

B
Rancor Pit - neutral
Jabba's Palace (MP4) - keep
Anchorhead (MP2 and also standalone release) - neutral
Cantina (standalone release) - keep

C
Dark Academy (MP5) - neutral
Knight's Enclave (MP6) - drop (I've heard lots of complaints about this one being restricted)
Great Library (MP5) - neutral
Rhen Var (MP4) - keep

I'd prefer 5 on each for a total of 15, but 12 is okay. I know some people want fewer, so I guess 12 is a good compromise. No a strong preference in any case.

My recommendations are above. Only map that really needs to be dropped is Knight's Enclave. Other I recommend drop just because they either aren't my favorites or for the sake of variety. The ones I voted to keep are the ones I like the best.

Suggestions for what to add (mostly re-add):
Cloud City
Commander's Office (Ravaged Base)
Bothan Spynet
Starport District
Simulation Deck (reasonable again now that Caedus can't drop people in pits)
Command Deck
Outlaw City
Some other Pirate's Moon map (for the sake of variety)

That was part of the Balance committee decisions from 2015.

I'd agree with readding Cloud City.

Knight's Enclave is the only one that has to be removed. IMHO
The low covered gambit hinders engagement and can play a larger factor in the outcome of games than it should.

I think Simulation Deck would be a fine replacement.

I would also like to see Cloud City and Bothan Spynet rotate back in sometime.

Admirable goal BlooMilk

Honestly, I wouldn't mind Peaceful City rotating back in for a season. I've had fun and memorable games on it.
Was just looking at Peaceful City yesterday thinking, "man, I miss that map."
I know it has abusive lines of sight but that's also true of, Rhen Var, one of our most popular maps.
Cloud City has ridiculously long LoS and Doors galore, but we've played on it for ages.
I think the important lesson here is, always cheat at map roll. I know that's what I do. ThumpUp

Trying to advocate for the possible playing of huges so here is my thoughts:

A (huge friendly) Coruscant/Yuuzhan-tar
Crime Lord's Palace
Alien Warzone
Nightclub
AC5 financial district

B Tatooine
Rancor Pit
Jabba's Palace (MP4)
Anchorhead (MP2 and also standalone release)
Cantina (standalone release)
[could swap in Town Hall for one of the latter three city maps for variety but I think this one is fine.]

C Empires and Outposts
Korriban (MP2)
Jedi Encave (MP1)
Throne Room (WOTC)
Remote Listening Post (MP2)
[complete revamp]

Overall I most want to add:
Alien Warzone
Throne Room (WOTC)

Would also be cool:
Korriban (MP2)
Jedi Encave (MP1)
Throne Room (WOTC)
Remote Listening Post (MP2)
Simulation Deck
Echo Base

Ones I really want to remove:
Knight's Enclave (MP6)
Great Library (MP5)

Would also like to remove:
Rhen Var (MP4)
Dark Academy (MP5)

And sorry to go against the grain but please no Bespin haha.

I also think Crime Lord's palace is one of the most balanced maps in the game for huges and is also stunning, should definitely be kept.

I wouldn't mind losing: Jedi Enclave - A slog everywhere you go.

Possible adds:
Rattatak Arena - Encourages combat and use of available cover.
Tomb of the Acolytes - Worth another look, always fun to play.
Commercial Spaceport - Fun since it was a Mystery Map, equal on both sides.
Freight Transit - Time to reintroduce
Remote Listening Post - Cool map with no real noticeable issues

I liked cargo docks, but it didn't seem to have many other fans.

I don't think Rattatak Arena should be on the Restricted list.

I liked playing on Tomb of the Acolytes, but it does have issues with chokepoints. I could go either way, personally, but I think there were some strong objections from some people in the community.

I always wondered why Commercial Spaceport never got any consideration for the Restricted List. No objections from me.

I'd be fine with seeing Freight Transit re-added to the list, but not one I have strong feelings about either way.

Remote Listening Post is an awesome looking map. I think the biggest issue is that if you start outside you have no safe starting spots, and a fast strafer can reach everyone on round 1. I guess if you take the map, though, you just count on starting outside.

I also think throne room needs to return. It's a map that gets down to business. Games rarely go to time in it.

The game has progressed to where competitive squads no longer have a decided disadvantage to other certain squads.

I think all maps should give Tim Ballard's opponent a 180 point bonus in a standard 200pt game!

We need events with Map list C without Knight's Enclave to prepare for GenCon.
First three regionals have avoided Map list C in part because people don't like Knight's Enclave.
