If I have character A who IS shooting within 6 squares of a stealth enemy, can I have allied characters that are MORE than 6 away combine fire on him?

Yes, the only restriction on combining fire is the support figs must have LOS to target and not have melee.

Yes because all that is required is line of sight--as long as they have not activated.
