Ok, this is going to either be a) a stupid question, or b) a noob question (although I think the two probably overlap...)

If a character with Stealth is in cover, and is the only target for a character further than 6 away, can he be shot at?
And the same again if there are multiple stealthed characters?

And how does Accurate Shot dial into the equation? That one has confused me for a while...

Thanks for any help, and your tolerance at such a goonish question.

a Character with stealth and cover can never be shot unless:

a) the attacker is within 6 squares

b) the character with stealth has cover from another character and the attacker has sniper

c) the attacker has Accurate Shot

hope that helps.

Cheers, the a and b I guessed, I just wasn't really sure on whether Accurate Shot basically ignored Stealth seen as it ignores cover.

Alrighty then. Well, first off, welcome to the forums!!

Now as to your question here's how it breaks down.

The only time you can shoot at someone who is in Cover is if they are the closest enemy. For someone who has Stealth, they are NEVER considered the closest enemy when in Cover and more than 6 squares away.

So if the only person you can see has Stealth and is in Cover, you would normally not be able to shoot at them (assuming they are more than 6 squares away).

Your 2nd question isn't very clear to me. I am guessing you are asking if there are two people you can see where one has Stealth and the other doesn't, who can you shoot at. Let's assume that the enemy without Stealth is farther away than the enemy with it. Since the enemy with Stealth cannot be targetted while in Cover when >6 squares away, they are not considered a legal target. So that gives you the ability to shoot at the guy without Stealth (this is because the Stealthed character is not considered the closest enemy even when physically he is).

The way Accurate Shot plays into this is that special ability allows a character to make an attack against a target in Cover even if they aren't the closest. Basically, Accurate Shot allows you to shoot at people who have Stealth, or other characters hanging out in the back.

Here's a link that's MUCH more detailed. http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1123262

Hope that helps.

Sincerely,

Thank you both very much.
I just thought I'd check as I'm tossing up between Sev and an Antarian ranger in a non-unique 100 point squad, I was just thinking that it was probably wise to squeeze in some Accurate Shot...

Again thanks for the help.

Yea but also remember, if he isnt adjacent to a character too, he gains the Fist From Beard +10 special ability, so its an extra +10 damage with Chuck if he is adjacent to a character, because a fist comes out of his beard to punch the target.

Don't forget that Fire Support Mission (given by Veers, Hologram) and Lightsaber Throw 3 (GM Yoda) & 5 (Vader Unleashed) all ignore cover. So they are good against Stealth, Super Stealth and even Cloaked targets.
