Ok, so THAT was a fun day! This was probably my favorite format for a tournament, because there's so much variety and it requires so much flexibility and adaptability.

My squads are listed earlier in the thread. While some people had some awesome themes going on (especially Jason's X-Men BHC Hero squads), my theme was this: "I want to play stuff that I've never played but wanted to, or stuff that I enjoy and haven't played in a long time." (Yes, Skybuck almost made the cut, along with a new version of the classic Double Lancer squad.)

Round 1 vs AceAce on Great Library: Several of his squads made me very nervous, so I went with the most durable and tanky squad that I had: Rex's ERCs. These guys are fun! Mike used his OR Droideka squad; with Bastilla, Brainiac, Defensive Plates and Repair going on, I had a hard time chewing through his Droidekas, but eventually it worked, thanks to some timely Grenades 40s from Darman. Mike killed my Niner and Darman, but they died honorably, so they will go to the halls of their forefathers with their chins held high. At the end of the match Mike had 2 chances to put the finishing blow on Rex (at 10hp) which would have put him over 100pts for the match, but he rolled a 1 and a 2.

Round 2 vs DarkDracul on Rebel Fortress: Yay, Prison Break! Bryan chose the right hand side, with most of his forces near the bottom of the map. I advanced most of my squad into the gambit room, where they were alone for several rounds. I advanced the Speeder to the upper room, near Han, but the next round I made a mistake that cost me the game: I strafed 2 of Bryan's Tantive IV troopers, when an amped-up Hera could see the Speeder. She proceeded to hit every shot, including a crit...and since she has that wonderful, beloved Suppressive Fire ability (@#%^&$*!!!), I could do nothing about it. So the Speeder was gone, Han was stranded, and the rest of my squad just couldn't carry the day. I did manage to kill a number of pieces, but I just couldn't keep up with Bryan's squad. He played it very well and fully deserved this win.

Round 3 vs Randy on Rebel Fortress: I played my BHC Palpatine and Vader of Lothal squad, vs Randy's Rey-Lo and Jaina squad. I was really excited about this matchup, because I know that Vader and Palpy are supposedly strong vs Jedi. Well, not Jedi that can parry. And parry they did! After the match I looked at the combat log again, and Randy made every single one of his first 15 Parry saves, without needing to fprr. Rey-Lo made all of their Save-16 activation saves (with the help of fprrs). Vader and couldn't do damage them to save his life...and that's what it came down to. The end result was Randy completely obliterating my squad, despite me being pretty optimistic about my chances going in. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes on Vassal.

Round 4 vs Darth O on Offworld Shipping Center: Yes, Round 4 was weird: my record was 1-2 (5pts), and somehow I was in 4th place out of 8 players, so I ended up playing the 3-0 Swiss leader. Oh well, it's all good. It's all about playing minis, and this was more minis, so it's good. Oliver was guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, and that's a good thing, because this matchup was definitely not in his favor: my Talon Karrde squad vs his Sith Triumverate squad. :O He couldn't use most of his force powers at all, and all of my attackers had a significant attack/damage boost, which meant that none of his Sith stood up for very long once they moved in to engage. Oliver did execute a sweet maneuver to Levitate Traya around under the place where my squad was set up, so that she could Force Phase through the wall and surprise Talon on the other side of the wall. However, my Genoharadan Assassin made short work of her after Talon recovered his wits.

Semi-Finals vs Randy on Offworld Shipping Center: Randy prevented me from using my Prison Break squad. He had seen it in action before and didn't want to see it again. Therefore I chose my Talon/Boba/Mira squad. I told him that he couldn't use his Jyn/Cassian squad, because I didn't know how most of the pieces worked and I was tired of thinking so hard; he ended up choosing his Vader/501st Legion squad. He set up on the left side of the map, and I ended up on the right. Round 2 started with Mira being Mira: 2 Gernades meant 4 dead Imperials. And shortly after that, Boba took out 3 more. Vader came up to put damage on Mira, so Dash went up to hit Vader hard (and suffered himself from the Dominant ability). My Genoharadan Assassin fell, but so did a bunch more 501st Troopers the next round. I haven't played Talon Karrde all that much, but I gotta say: I love the squads that I can make with him!

Finals vs Tim on Rebel Fortress: Having been very disappointed in the Vader/Palpy combo previously, I nixed that squad for the final. That left Tim with the option of telling me to play either the freakin' ERCs or my Prison Break squad; Tim chose Prison Break. I was happy to do that, because I wanted a chance to redeem it again after getting wrecked so badly using it earlier in the day. Tim nixed his Separatist Dooku squad, which left me with the option of asking him to play his Revan squad or his Yoda/ERC squad. I was very nervous about what Yoda could do when he has super-tanky bodyguards (ERCs with Shields 2!), so I selected his Revan/Set squad for him to play. Tim set up on the left, and placed Hansicle in the middle room...Lando let me move Han out to the open hallway, just north of Tim's main setup area. Round 1 I just advanced my squad, still tighly packed together for Disruptive and BG safety. Set Harth swapped in for a Barrage on Lando and the Speeder, but didn't do much damage. Set did the same thing next round, then used Transfer Essence to escape to safety. I moved my pieces up to shoot at the fodder Tim was using to prevent access to Hansicle. Tim made a very good move, using Sheev to put 10 lightning dmg on my whole squad, and then put another 20dmg on Crix. I ran over Sheev (critting in the process) and ended up with the Speeder close to Han, but not quite adjacent. Then next round, Revan won init and Sheev did it again, killing Crix...and thereby nerfing the Speeder's sweet Cunning strafes. That was huge, since the Speeder was set to eat through most of Tim's back line the next round. Sheev went down after that. The Speeder freed Han, who would wake up next round. Revan ran up to put 30 dmg on Sabine (BGed by Chewie). And just as I was putting the dmg on Chewie, I noticed that Threepio has Distraction, so Revan wouldn't be able to swap away (for Set) at the end of his turn. This was a huge swing, since Set was all set (pun intended! ha!) to get a sweet Blaster Barrage on the Speeder, Han, R2, Chewie...it would've been painful. However, thanks to Threepio, Revan was stuck in place. Sabine dropped 40 on Revan with a gernade, so Revan was at 90hp. I won the next init (because Han CotMF nerfs Master Tactician), and so Han put 100dmg into Revan with no cover from across the board. Revan failed his LS Defense save and died. After that it was mostly cleanup: the Speeder absorbed some damage before strafing over the last of Tim's attackers. Most of my squad was severely wounded by the end of the match (Speeder at 30, Sabine at 10, Threepio at 20, Chewie at 70), but Han joining the battle turned the tide in my favor and gave me that damage boost that I needed to deal with Revan.
