Yeah, you have to schedule games these days. pntkd2 has been looking for games recently.

Challenge to anyone crazy enough to take it up...

Use all 9 factions (not counting Fringe) across the 7 constructed events. For Royal Rumble you bring 3 pairs, so you get 3 factions in that event, which lets you get to all 9 factions.

You can blend factions in Royal Rumble - so you could get 6 factions in that alone

It's daylight savings time right now, so if you're looking up the time online, it's EDT instead of EST.

Are you in Europe?

if we need to take care of something for the family during the tournament, are we allowed to pause our current games to take care of that? i have my parents coming over tommorow afternoon and i need to help them with something for a bit. itd be during the 150pt tournament in JC. i don't know what the procedure is for when we need to get up and leave to do something like cook dinner etc.....

The rounds are 75 minutes, so hopefully a game ends early enough to grab a bite in there somewhere. The champs is the only tournament where it should present an issue, though. The others are short enough that you can eat before and after and not need to worry that much about food during the tournament.

Except that there likely won't be time between tournaments. Unless every single game ends early in any particular round (unlikely) 75 min rounds + time to finish the final round + pairings + set up = 90 minutes at least, and that's only if everything goes smoothly.

Thurs/Fri - 3 round tournaments.
90 x 3 = 4.5
time between tournament start times = 4.5
"extra time" = 0

Sat/Sun - 4 round tournaments
90 x 4 = 6
Time between tournament start times = 6
"extra time" = 0

The real question is, if tournaments run long, will the others be pushed back?

I'd recommend pre-prepping food for each day and have it ready as a quick eat between rounds or even during games.

Is five rounds a possibility for champs? You have at least seven NZers playing which will boost it a bit.

No, it will stay 4 rounds. It will however bump up the number of players who qualify for the single elimination portion

You may end up having to take a loss if you are unable to get your game in. The schedule is fairly tight.

Yes, very tight. What's the plan if a tournament runs overtime?

Okay - timing question from NZ.

World Champs on our Sunday/your Saturday: It kicks off for us at 8am, yes? Games are 75 minutes, and there are four rounds plus knockouts - do we have any rough time-frames for the event (eg. Round 2 starts at blah, Round 3 at blah, Knockouts are blah-blah...)? (Just thinking about the significant others in our lives that we need to communicate with!)

The excitement is just starting...!

I don't want to speak for the organizers, but it is very hard to pin an exact time on anything. I'm sure they will try to run as efficiently as possible, but technical difficulties, communication over different formats, etc will be something that has never been dealt with for Gen Con before. Some will have to be crossing the bridge as they come to it. I have estimated about 90 minutes between the start of each round, but that is only a very general estimate. I don't doubt that if all games finish early in any round, they will immediately start the next round. I wouldn't expect down time.

In case that was meant as a question, yes that's the correct NZ time.

So, I'm thinking of logistics and how things are gonna work tomorrow, and stuff. I gots questionz:

1. Where do we send our squads, and where will they be displayed/shared? Will there be a thread in the Events forum for each event?
2. When do we send our squad info to someone?
3. Who do we send that squad info to?
4. What is the airspeed of an unladen swallow?

Is there going to be a new Bloomilk thread for each tournament to announce pairings and results? That seems like the cleanest solution.
