Hi BlooMilk
I have been looking for an old tread that once was on the WotC forums, but to no avail.
It described the evolution of the competitive meta through the different expansions. I started playing very late, Bounty Hunters, so I dident experience the early stages, though I collected since Rebel Storm.
I would like to experience this though, at some point, so I am looking for a run down of how the meta looked, through the first couple of sets.
For what I remember/gathered:
Rebel storm:
Imperial:
Darth Vader, Sith Lord – 60 Emperor Palpatine – 40
Rebel:
Han Solo – 28 Princess Leia, Senator – 13 R2-D2 – 8 Boba Fett – 50
Clone Strike:
Republic:
Boba Fett – 50 Aurra Sing – 37 R2-D2, Astromech Droid – 9 Gran Raider - 4
Separatists:
Battle Droid Officer – 9 Destroyer Droid – 30 Destroyer Droid – 30 Destroyer Droid – 30
Universe:
Imperial: Darth Vader, Jedi Hunter - 75 Nightsister Sith Witch - 17 Probe Droid – 8
Rebel: Han Solo, Rebel Hero - 35 Aurra Sing – 37 Lobot – 27
Yuuzhan Vong:
Nom Anor - 34 Lobot - 27 9 x Gran Raider 4 Lobot reserves: 4 x Gran Raider 4
Champions:
Republic: Jedi Weapon Master - 26 Jedi Weapon Master - 26 R2-D2, Astromech Droid - 9 Aurra Sing - 37
Sith:
Darth Bane - 82 6 x Ugnaught - 3
Imperial:
Anakin Skywalker, Sith Apprentice - 39 Grand Adrimal Thrawn - 37 Mas Amedda - 8 4 x Gran Raider 4
Please help me fill out the squads that where being played, that I have missed

Greetings |Ska as in the music, n, que as in 'what?"| If you use Wayback Machine or Majestic Archive, you can get the full image of the Wizards of the Coast archived forum.
"Please help me fill out the squads that I have missed". Would you like the full "World International Championships by Year?" for VASSAL or, for Tabletop Boardgame Simulator? and, are you at Boardgame Geek or Electronic Journal of Combinatorics?
I would be happy to provide "Chess Compositions" history of 4.3 gigabyte of all known Regional to International games I have from 2002 to the present.
I wrote an ASCII visualization based on VASSAL and on Stephen Wolfram's "Blinky Lights" routine for SWMinis, and, SWMinisPlays web browser, for use as a play testing tool to cost new pieces, in conjunction with Surf Rider's Excel Cost Sheets etc.

Finally! I am reunited with the tread, its like getting reacquainted with an old friend :D
Thank you both for your contribution and especially you cassus for finding the actual thread. I am also surprised that I could recall so many of the builds, but I did spend a lot of time reading on forums back then, I still continue to read and browse forums.
I am not finished with reading the tread yet, I try to savour it.
@ kobayashimaru I have to disappoint you, I am Danish not French, but I have studied French at school (equivalent of high school) same with German. But not at university level, so I am not that proficient with those languages.
The "Ska", part of my name is also less sophisticated than you theorised. Its a perfume that Paris Hilton brands in South Park, quirky I know.
If you guys know other classic threads, please let me know, I am having a blast revisiting the game.

So, my response in this thread is now gone? Not sure how that happened, because I didn't delete it. This is actually very annoying because now I can't find this stupid link. I'm sure it was a wayback machine archive of the WotC forums. I also believe Nickname was the OP. Edit: Took 30 minutes of scrolling history but I got it... again. Let's not delete my response this time. https://web.archive.org/web/20151001214012/http://community.wizards.com/forum/squad-critique/threads/1099366

Excellent archival work Cassus Fett; I am also not sure where a few posts go, Bloomilk can be a little clunky from time to time.
EDIT: Thanks for the link too, that's a great 'blast from the past'. Did you also find the Electronic Journal of Combinatorics articles, or better yet, the Tales from the Brink Web-E-Zine etc?
Imagine, briefly, "Progress Quest" / "Game of Games" PugnaciousOne of DevArt et al... Imagine... a "Paper-Generator" like the Stat Card Automator, from the OEIS etc...
which will make those articles and adapt them into a Magazine etc...
why... that sounds like Kobayashimaru's Stat Card Maker or, "Books of the Wasteland" for Fallout 4...
