What's good everyone!

Have any of ya'll played this before? https://sw5e.com/

For awhile I loved playing minis via the custom Campaign Edition with my friends, and since then a lot of them have moved on to DND. I don't mind DND, but it's not Star Wars, so I wasn't as interested in it.

However, I just finished a run of KOTOR and have that RPG itch again. I heard KOTOR was based on the Star Wars Roleplaying Game by Wizards, which is based on 3rd Edition DND, but I know 5th Edition DND is widely regarded as easier to play so I found this: https://sw5e.com/

Does anyone know how it is or if it's good?

Thanks,

GBC

yup, good ol SAGA Edition
SW5E are folks from the SW:TCG also by Wizards,
who disliked the change to SAGA Edition...

SWs wizardsofthecoast SAGA Edition RolePlaying System, was a relative of Wizards' D20 Modern Line,
so, there's heaps of stuff in it.
Yes, KOTOR 1 the game and the roleplaying tabletop are related to it. A Prima Game Guide Special Edition for KOTOR,
also contained as a 'Dr Dolly Centerfold", a tear-out insert which was effectively translated KOTOR into STARWARS SAGA RPG.

There are also GURPS (Fallout Relative) STARWARS,
and WestEndGames StarWars (which is ancestor to my own "StarWars: Kill Team" translation of Necromunda/W40KStarWars)

You've then got GOBS "Generic Oversized Space Battles" or whatever that acronym is,
it's a free space war gaming framework.

much like ye-olde Yoda Stories, a Win95 era videogame
(which I made "Rhea's Stories" missions for, both in Factory Original Yoda Stories and in the VASSAL Yoda Stories or
in Tabletop Boardgame Simulator Yoda Stories etc)
you can also use VASSAL and TabletopBoardgame Simulator or 8bitgamemaker
to make your own ISO interface for the game.

how did you get on?
and,
did you see my inboxing about,
using the "Internet Time Machine"
so you can experience the 5E launch curve?
just use the Wayback / Majestic Archival,
to filter the WotC boards and a few places after,
to see folks ree and rage about 5E and Saga Edition all over again! BigGrin
