I'm guessing most people have probably watched it so far. What are your thoughts on it? I personally think it is amazing! Episode 3 sent shivers down my spine and I was on the edge of my seat. I love seeing little Leia also and her interaction with Obi Wan Kenobi.

Yes, I think the whole show is excellent.
Little Leia is perfectly cast...she is the highlight of the show for me.
Third Sister is amazing.
And of course, Ewan MacGregor is the boss.
Each episode has been great so far, IMHO.

Its interesting
it's somewhere between Rogue One; A Star Wars Story
and The Book of Boba Fett
I hope it doesn't head to The Mandalorian or to Solo a SW:Spoopry Story town though. BigGrin

I just know though its going to become a steamer at some point
so, there'll need to be some re-edits to
restore how close The Obi Wan TV Show are
to Episode 3 and Episode 4,
Hayden and Ewan back has that dynamic - and, those elements may not be as much of the source of
the issue so much as shoehorning in Tie Ins to a different Expanded Universe concept of Dismay.
You can't escape the George Lucas pre-Dismay variant.
that is the original version and original vision.
I just wish to remove all the extraneous elements which aren't in the original source material.

If we change Obi Wan to be closer to Episode 3,
then, we would need to change The Book Of Boba Fett to remove The Mandalorian
and it would start pulling the present stuff apart hehehe

I prefer the source materials upon which the show is based more than the show;
the Obi Wan Jedi Apprentice and
Obi Wan - Last Of The Jedi
Scholastic Books series which were adapted into Comic Books.
They already narrated this -
Hayden, Pamela and Ewan already narrate the audio-book "radio play" for 'purists' out there,
so, from that point of view,
we already got the perfect version hehe.

These series, like the New Jedi Order and Expanded Universe Comics
are far more fun than the actual movies.
Consider: Jaina, Jacen and Anikin Solo in the NJO Series of books and games and comics,
and contrast to...
Reya Palpatine and Ben Starkiller Dark Kilogram....
Thats why female fans of Star Wars felt let down -
Reya is literally a palpatine wtf?!
Where is MARA JADE?! Winter, Guri, etc...

I'll tell you where -
they were so worried about Siegel&Shuster Effect,
they didn't want to pay anyone who worked on any prior Expanded Universe stuff.
They pretended like, no-one ever read or wanted to,
just to scrimp on a few bucks they may have had to negotiate with
the original expanded universe folks - if at all,
because, they already signed comprehensive derivative works agreements with the previous Expanded Universe folks.
I look forward to the Dark Horse universe and other indie-comics that formed
who have the legitimate rights to continue into the future with those alternative versions.
They've kept things going in the meantime and,
when you see that stuff get modded into JK:JA etc, it's awesome.

I also dislike the 3D Animated Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars The Clone Wars references
which I delete and replace with Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars Instead (the 2D Animated not the 3D animated)
Ashoka, fun character, but, is Adi Gallia and ShaakTi's apprentice
and not really anything related to Starkiller or Skywalker.
may exist but is part of the Starkiller Tie-In Games and ultimately doesn't factor into the prime-universe as much

However,
Siri Tachi and Tahl and the rest
have many more adventures and stories.
some of the 3D adventures are re-imagined as the 2D Equivalents etc.

@Chris,
Yes, they adapted the Jude Watson Jedi Apprentice
and Last of the Jedi "Learn to Read Scholastic Books"
into comicbooks and,
part of the new show riffs on these.

Much as "grogu" is first referenced in
ILM's Yoda Stories... that's how far back that element goes BigGrin
the collector edition of Yoda Stories had a Making Of DVD and, there are some familiar presenters on that.

"More is more, and less is a bore"
Iris Apfel, and it seems applicable to the 'expanded" universe
more is more, right?
It's just fear of having to navigate litigiousness
the "Siegel and Shuster Effect", that makes them want to find ways
to not need to bring all of that along.

But, a lot of Female Fans,
are still lamenting the loss of things like
Daria
and in Star Wars,
the Siri Tachi, Tahl, Winter, Guri,
Jaina Solo, Mara Jade etc etc...
hundreds of characters that they clicked pause on for a while...
like, it was a good thing in their games and stuff and then...
"Pause."

wait 20 years...
"Pause, still paused."
"Okay, resume..." <---- when is that 'resume' part happening?

The prequels cop a lot of guff though I enjoyed the clone wars etc,
and, I think despite my vocal consternation that I personally don't consider
"SW:VII through IX to exist"
(Yes, I have seen Leonard Nimoy at the Mt Wilson Documentary where Nimoy talks about a hendecagy of Star Wars Films)
in this one, lr8s-CDOSMI <--- Youtube vid link,
Nimoy says in '83 they envisaged 9 films over 40 years
but, before his demise in '15, Nimoy used the term "hendecagy"
(presumably, 11 films)

LMAO you called NJO “fun”. That series isn’t fun, it’s not supposed to be. Starfighters of Adamur is fun. The Yuuzhan Vong galactic genocide tour is not.

That series isn’t fun, it’s not supposed to be. <----- Fun is subjective, there is more campy fun in NJO than Cade Starkillers' Legacy Series which the confabulation of SW:VII through IX is... mostly.
i liked Jaina, Jacen, Anikin Solo, the NJO and JKJA series'
it was just really well done the whole thing and then "pause".
Starfighters of Adamur is fun.
The Yuuzhan Vong galactic genocide tour is not.

Not a Vong fan either huh?

"The name |Zonama Sekot| no longer has any meaning for me..."
Darth Vader, about some Vector Prime shenanigans,
probably.
Nom Anor Doesnt Exist.
Nor does Jar Jar... completely cut from the thing,
problem solved, prequels instantly 110% less 'whimsy"

Again, folks,
my personal prerogative to 'canon",
I think its subjective and,
a multiverse - you make whatever, and folks like it or leave it etc.

Seriously though,
I have been on public record to forfeit out of comps,
by refusing to play any Yuuzhan Vong themed Borg Squads.
"I refuse to recognize the existence or canonicity of the opponent squad". LOL
Worst. Negative Play Experience. Ever.
Vong gambit squads irritate me to this day.

"Rogue Planet" <--- an interesting sci-fi concept,
a shame they wove it into Yuuzhan Vong,
a great read with a lot of the Jude Watson Jedi Apprentice Series etc,
though, I must say... non-canonical.
(reason - contains Zonama Sekot and Vong).
Just... eliminate all reference to the Vong,
and, make more of the Marvel - Darkhorse elements quasi canon
and resume from there etc... <--- said as though Dr Evil of the Unnecessarily Slow Dipping Mechanism.

I enjoy reading fanon and machinima where there are other protagonists,
than the "Luke Skywalker" "Messianic" figure
as frustrating as losing the protagonists from Rogue One is,
which --- tangent, Gynie Also is supposed to be Jan Ors,
that is clearly trying to tell "Dark Forces" / "Jedi Knight the Games" into a movie...
the SW-RPGs have been quite awesome to continue adventures within that cosmos.

I love NJO and the Yuuzhan Vong, it’s just not a “fun” series, I mean, it opens with a Moon crushing Chewie…

Oh... I was there,
Sernpidal or whatever it was called - physics doesn't work like that,
like Scott Manley indirectly critiqued in another movie which had a de-orbiting moon impact a planet...
I have "Vector Prime" and the comicbook adaptation
(it's in the home library HazMat quarantine zone next to "Fear The Walking Dead" etc)

I saw it...
never happened. Never Happened.
Just some old malware / bloatware. BigGrin

Old Chewby grew old and retired to be Mayor of Wookietown,
if not the whole of Wookie-dom. Wookies everywhere rejoiced.
Even the exiled wookies who scratched people by using their claws
were allowed home under Old Cheby's Rule of Wookiedom.
in glorious "Tiny Tina's" Fashion, brought to us by Gearbox etc,
its like a TellTale Game of "The DEFINITIVE" edition,
I saw that, that is more canonical huh?
Old Mayor Chewie, died doing what he loved,
he had his hand in a cookie jar.

"Fun", is entirely subjective,
and derived wherever it might appear.
I think parts of NJO books are funny laugh-at,
and others are laugh-with.

Other things are more the former-only however,
like yours truly leaving bloviating novellas from place to place.
"Piles" some like to call it,
they've prescribed me Preparation H for the Piles Problem I leave around the place,
it's the best kind of roast ever...
It sits next to my Youtube 1million Plaque and the Unpretentiasil Vile
"Can you put toothpaste back in the tube?" hahahaha

Look,
I've had a lot, a lot, of emails etc over these few threads -

I am a Clone Wars and Prequels Fan moreso than
the unmodified SW:VII through IX fan.

Ewan and Hayden are awesome and,
I'm merely suggesting you can comptrol and play just a few moments in different order,
you could hypothetically, use their previous Radio Play and Audio Books
to make the Grim-Dark version we had in
"Star Wars: Purge" and the "Rise of the Empire" reams of literature.

I think ObiWan is trying to play possum,
he is trying to sever a connection to the force and maintain a low profile etc,
We then have mind-tricks,
as QuiGon's Force Ghost has been hunting Vader,
so... only folk who knew Vader AND are force sensitive masters, could possibly mind-trick Vader...

so, how can there be so many?!
It isn't just Holonet Deep Fakes and trying to hack Darth Vader.

For a time,
Darth Vader also used like IronMan,
telepresenced repurposed androids to stand in,
that is how Vader is in 10 places at once...
some of them are not "The Real Slim Shady".

Theres a lot going on in the world right now -
it may have been felt,
'disrespectful' to the plight of many
to tell what is a horrific area between Episode 3 and A New Hope,
it is brutally grim-dark.

You also have the "Boba Fett Vs Vader" Darkhorse Comics
and, the Blood Ties / Open Seasons Fett-verse
so... there's a lot going on in that 20 year lead-up to A New Hope.
