4 weeks away on at the end of july the weekend before actual Gencon?

Or the weekend after labor day? Set 24 would be out but NOT legal for the vassal con events.

First, I think for the September dates you mean September 10 and 11 (not 11-12, because that's Sunday-Monday).
I can make both work, but I voted for September.

Second...just 2 days? This is a big change from the 4 days that we've had for the past 2 years. Why the change?

It would be a full slate of 4 days, I was just trying to get it up quickly so went for the weekend days.

We were in lockdowns or quarantining for 2 years and were doing GenCon weekend virtually.
Anyway, I ran the Sunday event last year and only one person showed up.

Prior to the Pandy we only had a 1-day Vassal regional.
So 2 days of gaming and an online "Championship" is an upgrade from before.

Since we are doing 2 "championships" (GenCon and Vassal) spacing them out is probably a good idea.
But set 24 probably shouldn't go live on bloo after the Vassal champs game.

I'm planning to participate in both.

In general, the set should be up before the sealed, because that's just a lot easier.

Personally, the September dates look better, because I have a TON of painting to do for the Gen Con sealed, and having to help plan the online event as well would be a lot.

Are we doing a vassal-con sealed again? No one showed up for the last one.

We won't need Set 24 on Bloo for GenCon sealed cause we will have physical cards.

If Vassal-con is in September we may not want 24 on Bloo confusing players.

Might be best to delay 24 going live until needed.

Then are we going to have a GC Champ vs VC Champ head to head match up to determine the Supreme Leader or will each Champ get to design his/her own piece?

It'll have to be a 3 player FFA between the GenCon champion, the VassalCon champion and the NZCon champion.

As I recall the discussions, I think the plan was to have one Champ-designed piece for each Championship winner, so 2 Champ pieces in total.

Although, I do like the idea of a head-to-head battle (using the same squads that were played in the main events!) for the title of Grand SWM Emperor. (and if the same person wins both events then we all stand in awe of the champion's unfathomable brilliance)

I like it. VCon vs NZCon with that winner taking on the GenCon Champ. Sweet!!

It most assuredly is. especially for Rest-Of-World (IE, NON CONUS SWMinis Participants etc)
We get to game it up at the GenCon closest to us and game it up real-time on the online tournament or side-games.

I mean, if SWMinis proves long-term to be as-popular-as Chess,
I could see it getting maybe a whole week,
but, a SWMinis month or year?
(Cue Bill Maher Chart but delete and replace what was on a previous chart, with SWMinis etc) BigGrin

That's a good point. The 'Pandy' (great word for it!) did throw a monkey-wrench into everything, and as a result it created room for something that would not have happened otherwise.

I'll be interested to see what our turnouts are like this year in various events, for both VassalCon and GenCon.

just wanted to check, but is the dates of September 11 and 12 the ones we are going for? that is a Sunday and Monday. The original post talked about weekends being for the vassalcon. So that would be Saturday September 10 and Sunday September 11 correct? Might want to update that poll in case the 10 and 11th were originally intended.
